Chapter 141 - 42 Tranquility
Chen Han looked at Wen Wen, actually a very pragmatic person. The reason he had agreed to this blind date was not only because Su Qianqian’s temperament happened to meet his expectations but also because of Mr. Su’s influence in the Military Department.
Although he had climbed to his current position by relying on his abilities and tactics, he knew that to continue ascending, simply relying on his past methods would not be enough; he needed someone to support him from behind.
After meeting Su Qianqian, he became even more satisfied. After all, every man hopes that their wife is a little prettier, even prettier if possible; the prettier, the better. It’s a common sentiment no one can escape.
Shen Chi felt somewhat resigned. Everyone had their own thoughts. Since Chen Han thought it was good, Shen Chi naturally had no objections, but there were still some things he needed to clarify, "Since you’ve decided, then you can’t keep harping on someone else’s past."
"You can count on that. Do I look like that kind of person?" Chen Han wasn’t just paying lip service. After all, he was a man who had been married once before; whether his bride was a virgin or not didn’t matter to him, let alone someone like Su Qianqian who had a slightly tarnished reputation?
"That’s good. I won’t say more, I need to get back. My sister-in-law is waiting," Shen Chi patted his shoulder and pushed the door open to leave.
"The head of the household is not assertive..." Seeing Shen Chi’s demeanor, Chen Han muttered softly to himself.
By the time Shen Chi got home, Lin Xiaoguai had indeed finished her bath and was waiting for him. He had planned to take a shower first to keep her waiting, but her gaze merely swept over him indifferently. He touched his nose and obediently complied.
"Tell me, what’s the deal with Chen Han? You only mentioned he was a comrade-in-arms, but what specifically is your relationship?" Lin Xiaoguai asked with an indifferent expression.
She didn’t like Shen Chi’s behavior of making decisions without so much as a heads-up, especially when it wasn’t work-related.
"I really didn’t mean to hide it from you." Shen Chi knew what she was struggling with, but other than this he couldn’t come up with any other persuasive words. Could he say he felt somewhat ashamed that, as a man, he was playing matchmaker?
