Chapter 128
Monday mornings, after a weekend of sweet rest, were often the hardest days of the week for workers.
However, that wasn’t the case for Do-Jun. He was always grateful for the chance to work and be part of society.
Yoon-Hee adjusted Do-Jun’s tie.
This was a first, as usually, he would tie it himself. Over the weekend, Yoon-Hee and the kids visited a department store and bought a new tie for him. She had insisted that she be the one to tie it for him when he left for work, and he reluctantly agreed.
“What do you think? Do you like it?” Yoon-Hee asked, hopeful for a positive reaction.
The tie was a simple navy blue, without any patterns. Looking at his reflection in the full-length mirror, Do-Jun smiled and said, “It looks great.”
When she saw that he liked it, Yoon-Hee beamed and clipped a small, straight pin onto the center of the tie.
“This came with the tie. It was costlier than I thought,” she said, recalling the price tag.
Yoon-Hee had plenty of leftover allowance because she usually came straight home after school instead of hanging out with friends. She had saved up that money to buy the tie and pin set for 150,000 won at the department store.
To her, it felt ridiculous that a tie and pin could cost that much, but she didn’t feel it was a waste at all since it was a gift for Do-Jun, her father.
“Oh no, it’s already 7:40...” Yoon-Hee said, checking the time.
