Chapter 1
Sizzle.
Eggs were frying in the pan.
A girl was busy preparing breakfast. She wore an apron over her school uniform, and her black hair, which was neither too long nor too short, swayed gently as she worked. Despite not being fully mature, she had a face prettier than most celebrities.
Once done, she took off her apron and stood in front of a door in the living room.
“Hooo.” She took a short, deep breath before knocking twice on the door.
But there was no response.
The girl opened the door softly and stared at the man in his mid-twenties, who seemed to be sleeping soundly.
“It’s time to wake up, Father,” she called softly.
She moved closer, brought her lips close to his ear, and whispered, “You might be late.”
Thump!
The man quickly sat up and nodded with an awkward smile.
