Only silence remained in the lab that had been ransacked by Gilach.
Aether opened the window and lit a stick of mana grass. Due to half of today’s plans being ruined, her insides felt like they were twisting into a pretzel.
“That bastard.”
Was it because he was a stupidly arrogant High Elf? He didn’t fucking listen despite having said numerous times not to disrupt her research.
Thinking about it, there were many elves besides Gilach who were like this: inconsiderate and selfish.
She got especially angry whenever she saw useless elitist bastards.
They believed they were some kind of chosen race. Being favored by the Goddess wasn’t everything; they weren’t better just because they could form contracts with Elementals without conditions. The World Tree? It was pathetic, the way they praised some big tree on a pedestal thinking that it was a gift from the Goddess.
They were the cancers of the planet. The elves would be her first target when she completed Dark Day.
Aether threw her finished cigarette out the window. She then shut it and closed the curtains, plunging the room instantly into darkness.
When she came back to her seat, she found Klais shivering on one side.
