Chapter 42
Red burst out of the waiting area and sprinted forward with swift, relentless momentum.
Ordinarily, the crowd gathered in the plaza would have been forced into a series of games prepared by the organizers, fighting a brutal battle for survival.
But Red had no intention of playing along with any of that.
This would all be over as soon as she found and subdued the one responsible for setting this up.
One of the games featured robots with sensors that turned their heads and sniped any participant who moved while being detected.
Red darted straight through the ◆ Nоvеlіgһt ◆ (Only on Nоvеlіgһt) hail of bullets and broke through in an instant.
Another game had walls closing in from either side, requiring players to contort themselves to match cutouts in the shapes to survive.
Red simply outran the walls themselves with speed far surpassing their approach.
There was a game that demanded players cross a bridge made of both reinforced and ordinary glass within a time limit—one wrong step and they'd plummet to their deaths.
Red moved faster than gravity itself, sprinting across the glass panels without hesitation.
Even more life-threatening games followed, each designed to steal lives without remorse, each targeting Red.
But Red cleared them all effortlessly, not a scratch on her.
