Chapter 1395 - 654: Nitro Hotel
In the sky, an airplane landed at Las Vegas airport.
Luke walked out of the cabin door, couldn't help but frown slightly. The sunlight in Las Vegas was stronger, so he took out his sunglasses from his pocket and put them on, then walked down the stairs off the plane.
After having a detailed conversation with Orty yesterday, he decided to accept this commission.
At that time, he was still in the excitement period of just buying a car, thinking that Las Vegas was not far from Los Angeles, he might as well drive his newly bought Hellcat to Las Vegas.
However, after a nap, Luke's excitement had largely worn off, so he decided to take it easy and fly instead.
Luke walked to the exit, scanning the crowd, and saw a white male holding a sign that read Mr. Luke Lee.
Luke walked over and greeted, "I'm Luke, are you from Nitro Hotel?"
"Mr. Lee, I am Baron Ackman, senior assistant at Nitro Hotel, nice to meet you." The white male, about thirty years old, with dark hair and medium build, dressed in a white suit, looked like a Southern European.
Baron Ackman offered, "Let me help you with your luggage."
"Thanks, I can handle it myself." Luke only had one suitcase, which was easy enough to pull along.
"My car is right in front." Baron Ackman gestured, saying, "Vice President Kyron Powell originally wanted to pick you up himself, but something came up at the hotel, so he sent me to fetch you."
Luke nodded, those words were just to listen to, he didn't really buy it.
As long as someone came to pick him up, it didn't matter who it was.
Luke put his luggage in the trunk and got into the car's back seat.
Baron Ackman drove away from the airport.
Since he wasn't sure if the other party knew the purpose of his visit to the hotel, Luke didn't proactively bring up the commission.
After driving for more than ten minutes, the car entered Las Vegas city. Baron Ackman asked, "Mr. Lee, I've already got your room ready.
Would you like to rest first or meet with Vice President Kyron Powell?"
"I would like to meet Vice President Kyron Powell first."
"Alright, once we arrive at the hotel, I'll have the service staff send your luggage to your room first."
"Thank you."
After a few more minutes, the car drove into Nitro Hotel, stopping in front of the hotel lobby, where a service staff immediately approached to help Luke open the car door.
Baron Ackman opened the car trunk, and the service staff took out Luke's suitcase. Luke handed the staff a tip.
Baron Ackman instructed the staff to take Luke's suitcase to his room.
Then, Baron Ackman led Luke into the lobby.
The lobby was very tall, with a crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling and dark gray marble tiles around, looking luxurious and splendid.
The two entered the elevator, and after swiping his card, Baron Ackman pressed the button for the 17th floor, then smiled at Luke, "Mr. Lee, the first floor of the hotel is the restaurant, the second and third floors are entertainment halls, and there is a gym on the fourth floor. Feel free to use them whenever you need."
"Alright." Luke replied, then asked, "Are you Vice President Kyron Powell's assistant?"
"Yes, my main job is to assist Vice President Kyron Powell with daily tasks."
During the conversation, the elevator reached the seventeenth floor.
Baron Ackman stepped out of the elevator, made a gesture inviting Luke, and led him to the east side of the hallway.
Baron Ackman stopped in front of the vice president's office door and knocked, "Knock knock."
"Come in." A middle-aged man's voice came from inside the room.
Baron Ackman pushed the door open and went in, saying, "Boss, I have brought Mr. Lee back."
A white male with gold-rimmed glasses stood up from behind the desk, walked to the door, and smiled, "Mr. Lee, pleased to meet you."
"Likewise, Mr. Powell."
"Please have a seat." Kyron Powell gestured for Luke to sit on the sofa, "Would you like something to drink? Black tea? Coffee?"
"I'd like a cup of black tea."
Baron Ackman turned to pour the tea.
Kyron Powell continued, "I originally planned to pick you up myself, but something came up at the hotel that required my attention, and I couldn't leave."
"No worries, we're meeting now, aren't we?"
"You're right." Kyron Powell laughed, "Mr. Lee, I have long heard of your great name, but you are a bit different from what I imagined.
You differ from the traditional heroic image of police officers, I think you are more dynamic and more real."
Luke added, "And more handsome!"
"That's right, the girls in Las Vegas will surely like you.
You're a hero in the hearts of many Las Vegas girls."
Baron Ackman came over with two cups of black tea, chuckled, "Including my mother."
These words were not just flattery. Luke was indeed quite famous in Las Vegas.
A year ago, a terrorist incident occurred in Las Vegas, resulting in nearly a thousand casualties, the highest recorded in America.
At that time, the entire Las Vegas police force was intimidated by the attackers' firepower, but only Luke, a Los Angeles officer, stood up, shooting the gunman first and preventing further casualties.
That night was unforgettable for all Las Vegas citizens.
In a way, Luke's fame in Las Vegas was no less than in Los Angeles; indeed, more people might know his name there.
Luke took a sip of black tea, "President Powell, I've heard your hotel has encountered some troubles."
