Chapter 1345 - 618: Chance Encounter
Silver Cloud Cruise Ship.
Luke is staying in room 908 on the cruise ship, with an area of about forty to fifty square meters, including a living room, living area, balcony, and bathroom. The living room has a small bar stocked with various drinks.
Luke put down his luggage, opened the sliding door, and stepped onto the balcony. Outside was the vast ocean, offering a great view where you could enjoy the sea scenery from the bed.
Suddenly, a voice rang in Luke's head, [Congratulations to the host, for successfully solving the murder and dismemberment case. A reward of 120 points has been given.]
As an FBI criminal consultant, Luke had only assisted the New York FBI in capturing the killer and did not partake in the subsequent closing procedures, so the reward was only issued after the case was officially closed.
Luke checked the Detective System; previously, he had 230 stored points, and now adding the 120 points, he had a total of 450 points.
The reason for having so many reserve points was that after receiving his last reward, Luke hadn't replenished the Function Cards he used.
Subsequently, Luke exchanged his points for one identification card, one Bullet-Proof Card, one Accuracy Card, and one Detection Card, spending a total of 90 points.
In this way, he had four of each commonly used Function Card in reserve.
After tidying up his room, Luke went to the larger suite in room 906 next door, which consisted of two rooms.
Hamidi Shawn was sitting on the sofa in the living room and asked with a smile, "How does it feel?"
Luke replied, "The environment's good.
But the safety is unclear."
"Don't worry, there'll be two bodyguards on night duty in my room, and the other two will be resting," Hamidi Shawn glanced at his watch, "It's almost noon, let's take a walk on the deck and grab something to eat."
Luke suggested, "I recommend you stay in the room. You can have your meals sent here."
"Come on, you're being too cautious.
I know it's right to be cautious, but we're currently safe." Hamidi Shawn explained, "I didn't tell anyone about buying cruise tickets before.
The ticket sales stopped last night.
Even if someone is tracking us, they can't board the cruise, they can only watch us sail away."
Since he wasn't afraid, Luke didn't bother persuading him further.
Luke, Hamidi Shawn, and the two bodyguards left the room.
At the corner of the corridor stood a waiter, and Luke approached to ask, "Is this floor fully occupied?"
"No, there are still two empty rooms."
"Can these tickets be sold temporarily?"
"Sir, are you referring to purchasing tickets in New York to board?"
"Yes."
"Regrettably, the ticket sales system in New York stopped last night."
Hamidi Shawn shrugged and smiled.
Luke continued asking, "From what you've said, tickets can still be sold elsewhere?"
"Yes, sir. This journey includes stops at four ports where tickets can be purchased and boarded."
"When will we reach the next port?"
"Tomorrow morning."
Luke took out a ten-dollar bill and handed it to him.
"Thank you, sir," the waiter said with a smile, "If you need a guide, I can assist."
"No need, we'll wander on our own," Luke said thoughtfully as he walked away.
If what Hamidi Shawn said is true, and no one else knows about the cruise trip, then it is indeed currently safe. Even if someone is tracking Hamidi Shawn, they would be unable to board the cruise.
Of course, there is the possibility of someone using connections or paying to find another way to get on board, but the ship is about to set sail soon, leaving little time for them to act.
However, this doesn't mean it's absolutely safe.
According to the waiter, passengers can board at the ports along the way.
If someone really intends to harm Hamidi Shawn, they could buy a ticket at the next port and still have a chance to board.
The next port is reached tomorrow morning, meaning until then, there's relative safety.
Understanding this, Luke also relaxed and took the elevator up to the cruise deck.
"Wooooo..."
The horn sounded, and the cruise ship slowly started to move away from the shore.
Standing on the deck, Luke looked at the crowd on the dock, seemingly trying to remember their features.
After a round on the deck, Hamidi Shawn returned to Luke, "Let's get something to eat.
The doctor said I need to lose weight. I only had an apple and a cup of coffee this morning, and now I'm starving."
Hamidi Shawn called a waiter, "Where is the restaurant?"
"Sir, there's a buffet on the second floor, and you can order à la carte on the third floor."
Hamidi Shawn took out a twenty-dollar bill and handed it to him.
"Thank you, sir, and have a wonderful day."
Hamidi Shawn said, "I can't wait to order, let's go have the buffet now, and we can have a nice meal again tonight."
The four of them went to the second floor.
The buffet was already open, with guests selecting their meals from trays.
One bodyguard picked a table while the other followed Hamidi Shawn.
Luke also grabbed a tray to select his food, taking a lap and choosing some of his favorite foods, though the portions weren't large.
After tasting, he could come back for more of what he found delicious, preventing waste and allowing him to try a variety of dishes.
While choosing food, Luke also kept an eye on the guests in the restaurant, not noticing any suspicious figures.
Later, Luke sat down across from Hamidi Shawn with his food, who seemed very hungry, devouring pizza.
