Chapter 1285 - 567: Case Closed
At the intersection ahead, Port made a sharp turn, heading directly into the opposite lane.
The deputy took out the walkie-talkie, "Raymond, we've spotted the suspect Gil Warren's black Mercedes on the opposite lane.
Don't lose him."
"Received."
The deputy looked at Port in the driver's seat, "Kid, how's your driving skills?"
"Before I got transferred, the Fast & Furious crew asked me to be a technical advisor, but I turned them down."
The deputy laughed, "You made the right decision. Joining the Robbery and Murder Department is far more thrilling than making a movie.
Come on, let me see your skills."
"Hold on tight!"
Port floored the accelerator, the speed of the black Dodge increased, and they caught sight of the black Mercedes with the license plate 4wsa328.
The Dodge chased the Mercedes, turned on the police lights and siren to signal the other to stop.
However, the Mercedes didn't stop; it even sped up.
"Stop it!"
The deputy tightened his grip on the handle, muttering, "It's been a long time since I've had real excitement."
Port didn't hesitate anymore, accelerated, and collided with the rear left of the Mercedes.
"Bang!"
The Mercedes swerved, lost control, and crashed into the right greenbelt.
"Well done!" The deputy was a bit excited.
Port stopped the car, both of them approached the Mercedes with guns drawn.
"LAPD!"
"Police, don't move!"
"Hey, let me see your hands, put them up."
Port opened the driver's door and pulled the driver out.
The deputy opened the rear door, holding his gun, "Hey, hurry up and get out."
Raymond and Jenny arrived at the scene, approaching with guns drawn.
The two in the Mercedes were handcuffed and searched.
The deputy stared at one of the white middle-aged men and asked, "What's your name?"
"Gil Warren."
"That's right, you're the one we're looking for."
"Where were you heading?"
"To the airport."
"Let me guess, you were planning to flee to Brazil to lay low?"
Gil Warren shook his head, "No, I'm going to Brazil for a vacation."
"Ha-ha." The deputy laughed, "I've got two pieces of news to tell you, one good and one bad.
The bad news is, you're not going to Brazil.
The good news is, I can offer you a new vacation spot."
After speaking, the deputy glanced at Raymond, "Buddy, stay here and handle the scene.
Port, get this guy in the car, I can't wait to interrogate him."
"Got it, deputy."
...
Forty minutes later.
Robbery and Murder Department, First Interrogation Room.
Gil Warren was already handcuffed to the interrogation chair.
The deputy and Port entered the room, talking and laughing.
The deputy asked, "Has the captain returned from the airport?"
"Probably still on the way."
The deputy laughed, "Great, let's try to finish the interrogation before they return."
"Then we need to push harder." Port placed the documents on the table, eager to seize this opportunity to shine.
The deputy stared at Gil Warren across the table and asked, "Do you know why you're arrested?"
"No, actually I want to say, there must be some misunderstanding, you've got the wrong person."
The deputy asked, "Do you know Ricardo Solu, Gode Simon, Glenn Rous?"
"Yes."
"What's your relationship with them?"
"Just casual friends, occasionally running into each other at the bar for a drink."
"But according to their statements, on the night of July 16th, you instructed them to shoot Fred Kramer."
Gil Warren shook his head, "They lied, I didn't."
"Three people lying together?" The deputy sneered, "Do you think the judge would believe three, or one?"
Gil Warren shrugged, "Maybe they conspired to set me up, who knows?"
The deputy opened the files, "Do you know Fred Kramer?"
"No, I've never even heard of his name."
"Let me introduce you. Fred Kramer is the head of research at Kerman Pharmaceutical Company, overseeing the development of a new type of antihypertensive drug. Kerman Pharmaceutical Company has already invested billions of US Dollars to develop this drug.
If Fred Kramer had an accident now, the development of the new antihypertensive drug could fail, and billions of US Dollars would go down the drain.
Someone has to be responsible for this."
Gil Warren shrugged, "It's nothing to do with me."
The deputy sneered, "You haven't realized the seriousness of this yet.
You're not just offending a person, nor merely Kerman Pharmaceutical Company, but the capital behind the company.
You caused them to lose billions of US Dollars, do you think they'll let you go?"
Gil Warren's face turned a bit grim, "I'm just a small character, I have no conflict of interest with Kerman Pharmaceutical Company... I..."
Seeing his hesitation, the deputy advised, "I know there's someone behind you, just give us his name, and let us handle the rest of the investigation.
If you refuse to cooperate, we can only trace it back to you, and you'll have to take the fall. Those capitalists will use you as a scapegoat.
Don't you understand such a simple fact?"
Gil Warren looked hesitantly, but still couldn't make up his mind.
The deputy shrugged, "Okay, if you won't speak, then forget it.
We'll treat you as the mastermind behind the shooting.
You're on your own." The deputy got close to him and whispered, "A friendly reminder, the power of those capitalists is terrifying, better let your family leave America.
