Chapter 1197 - 524: Uninvited Guests
Lilith glanced at the bespectacled girl next to her, "Bring up the yacht's surveillance footage."
"Okay, Miss Finn." The bespectacled girl replied, turning to leave.
Only Luke and Lilith were left in the master bedroom.
Lilith covered herself with the sheets and asked, "Pretty?"
"What?"
"You know what I'm asking?"
Luke chuckled, "It's a shape I like."
"Pervert, turn around."
Lilith teased him, then changed to a serious tone, "Thank you for saving me!
Honestly, I can't imagine what would have happened if you weren't here."
Luke turned around.
Lilith picked up the clothes from the bedside table and put them on, continuing, "This proves my choice was the right one!"
Luke was a bit amused and annoyed, "Why does that sound like you're praising yourself?"
"I'm just stating a fact." Lilith finished dressing and walked boldly over to Luke, "Are you hurt? Want me to check?
I've had professional first aid training."
"No, no need."
"Don't pretend to be tough, tough guy."
"I'm fine." Luke indeed wasn't hurt.
Lilith ran her slender fingers through her golden hair, "What do you make of this? Were those two thugs after the treasure map?"
"I don't know.
But your behavior today was a bit too flashy."
"You're talking about me handing out tuna meat?"
"Exactly."
"I have my reasons.
Besides, I only mentioned being here on vacation, not a word about treasure hunting."
"I know.
But I remember clearly, when we first got on the yacht today, the bespectacled girl wanted to take a selfie and upload it to Facebook, but you stopped her.
Your caution shouldn't only be reserved for others."
Lilith looked at Luke, silent for a moment, then deliberately extended her tone, "You're right, sir."
Luke responded with a teasing tone, "Good girl."
"Click, click..." A series of footsteps sounded as the bespectacled girl came in, "I got the surveillance video."
The bespectacled girl placed a laptop on the dressing table, plugged in a USB drive, and clicked open the surveillance footage.
Luke reminded, "Find tonight's time period."
The yacht had two cameras in total, one at the front and one at the back. There were no cameras inside the yacht rooms to protect guest privacy.
The bespectacled girl found tonight's time period in the front camera monitor and caught sight of the two thugs, although the footage was unclear due to the dark.
The bespectacled girl skillfully enlarged the screenshot, revealing a clearer image of the two thugs.
Luke looked at Lilith next to him, "Do you recognize these two?"
Lilith scrutinized closely and shook her head, "No impression."
Luke looked at the bespectacled girl.
The bespectacled girl also shook her head, "One's wearing a mask and one's wearing a headcover. Unless you're particularly familiar, it's hard to tell."
Lilith sighed and looked at Luke, "What should we do now?"
"Call the police."
The bespectacled girl reminded, "We're not in Los Angeles; the police might not arrive quickly. Will it affect our treasure hunt plan tomorrow morning?"
Luke said, "Whether they come is their business. Reporting to the police can put us in a favorable position."
Lilith nodded, addressing the bespectacled girl, "In this matter, listen to Luke.
You call the police."
"Why me?" the bespectacled girl questioned.
"Why not you?"
The bespectacled girl raised her hands, "I was just frightened; my voice is still shaky. I'm worried I won't speak clearly."
Lilith laughed, "That's the effect we want. Show your terrified and pitiable side as much as possible.
A calm guy calling the police won't be as impactful as a terrified and shaken young woman, come on!"
Luke nodded, "A bit of a crying tone would add to the effect."
The bespectacled girl "..."
