"Sis, I went with Grandfather Li to Mu’s Shop today and saw some of our furniture completed. It’s really beautiful, and Zhenzhen and I love it. You should go and have a look tomorrow," Xin Er said, her excitement palpable as she shared her joy with Mo Yan.
The sisters climbed into bed, and Xin Er chatted animatedly with Mo Yan about her delight.
"It’s great that you like them. Once we move to our new home, you and Zhenzhen will each have your own rooms. Then, you can decorate them however you wish," Mo Yan said tenderly, holding her sister’s soft little hand.
"Yes, I’ll make sure my room is decorated beautifully. I’ll invite lots of friends over to play," Xin Er said excitedly. Even though it couldn’t be seen in the dark of the night, Mo Yan knew her sister’s eyes were surely shining brightly.
"Lots of friends? Well, after we move to Liu Yang Village, you should play more with the girls your age in the village. You can’t always stay at home doing needlework alone. Understand?" Mo Yan patted Xin Er’s hand. The girl was wonderful in every way, but she didn’t enjoy socializing much. If she didn’t practice communicating with others now, she would likely encounter problems in her social interactions in the future.
"Mhm, I understand," Xin Er responded loudly. She hadn’t enjoyed going out in Mo Family Village before, not because she didn’t like to play, but because people looked at her strangely when she did. On top of that, the ignorant children would call her names behind her back, making it too upsetting for her to really have fun with anyone.
The sisters talked for a while longer before Xin Er gradually drifted off to sleep.
Mo Yan took Little Flower into the Space and saw an additional red streak on the Merit Pearl, knowing it was from defusing the situation for the child earlier that day.
