Chapter 122: Raiding the Law Field (1)_1
Time flew by, and in just a few days, the Mo Family’s main house was built, just waiting for the other houses to be finished before raising the beams. However, several days had passed, and there was still no clue about the arsonist.
To prevent further sabotage, Mo Yan hired people to move the rafters and beams stored in the village to the construction site. The newly purchased wooden beams were also stored together, covered with tarpaulin to keep out water. With Little Flower watching, anyone thinking of causing trouble would have to think twice.
Unable to find the arsonist, Mo Yan felt extremely frustrated. She always suspected that Old Man Mo or someone from his faction was behind it. Mo Yonglu, who had recently been released from prison, was the most likely culprit, but without evidence, she could do nothing but suspect and she certainly couldn’t just confront them boldly with questions.
One day, as Mo Yan was preparing to go out, intending to see if there were any fruit seedlings for sale on the street, the Punishing Shopkeeper arrived with Xiao Zhu.
"Shopkeeper, what brings you here?"
After inviting them to sit down in the hall, Mo Yan asked curiously, as today was not the agreed upon day for them to collect Spirit Spring Water.
The Punishing Shopkeeper bowed respectfully and said, "Miss Mo, it seems that the medicinal water is no longer effective, and my master has sent me to inquire about it with you."
"No longer effective?" Mo Yan was puzzled but soon understood the reason and explained, "Initially, your master’s friend was too weak, and I was worried he wouldn’t withstand the strength of the medicine. That’s why I suggested diluting one cup of water in a bucket for bathing. Now that it’s not effective, it means his body is improving and requires a stronger concentration of the medicine."
Upon hearing this, the Punishing Shopkeeper was relieved: "I see! So what do you suggest we do next, Miss?"
