Chapter 16: THE KING’S WORRY
In the capital city of Arkanhold, inside a huge white castle, the King of Velmora sat alone in a quiet room. He was wearing clean white clothes, sitting on a soft cushion, eyes closed, trying to meditate.
But something felt wrong.
His mind was full of noise. He opened his eyes and looked at a strange mirror in front of him. This mirror didn't show faces. It showed the emotions and power of the people in the kingdom.
And what the King saw made him very uneasy.
More and more peasants—normal people, poor people—were getting powerful abilities. Stronger than even some nobles.
"This isn't how it's supposed to be..." the King whispered.
In the past, only nobles had strong powers. That's how the system worked. Nobles ruled, peasants obeyed. But now? Even farmers and workers were awakening rare powers. And some of them were being chosen by nobles to join big factions.
Things were changing fast.
The King stood up and walked slowly. He looked at the glowing lights in the mirror, each light showing a person with strong power. And most of them were not nobles.
"This can't continue," he said, angry and nervous.
He wasn't just a king. He was also a man. And like any man in power, he didn't want to lose control. If peasants kept getting strong, the nobles would lose their place. People might even stop respecting the King.
