My Mansion of Gorgeous Maids in Another World

Chapter 22: Elven Ballroom

Polished wood gleamed beneath overhead lightning stones that reminded Jett of his high‑school gymnasium. Mia and Noctlisa skirted along the windows, forcing them open and sweeping out dust.

Though smaller than the summoning chamber, the room’s broad floor was ideal for any kind of training.

A night breeze drifted in, and Jett rolled his shoulders, stretching the stiffness from his neck.

When his maids finished preparing the space, they approached and bowed.

"May I be excused to change into practice garments, Master Jett?" Mia asked.

"I’d like to get changed too, Master," Noctlisa added.

"Yeah, of course. I’ll wait for you here," Jett said.

Ballroom dance might be performed in ornate gowns, but he couldn’t imagine them practicing in maid dresses.

After the two excused themselves and slipped into the changing rooms, Jett gazed out the nearest window and sank into thought.

On paper, the Warden looks like the good guy and the Harbinger the villain. Maybe that’s just my narrow view. Still, can a "good guy" really keep the world in balance?

The mansion only accepts extraordinary women as maids, and each brings a dowry so the next Master grows stronger with the house and its system. Competition for those slots is brutal. Prestige aside, what makes whole factions sacrifice their people for me? Do they want me to shield them from the Harbinger’s woes?
