"My home is in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood of West Vancouver. If I ever go back to Canada and you happen to be there as well, we can certainly have a chat,"
Even Ling Yichuan was taken aback!
The Shaughnessy neighbourhood in West Vancouver is one of the most expensive areas in all of Canada and a well-known wealthy district. Jian Anning had just said she lived there. Was she deliberately concealing her identity, or was there another reason?
Caught slightly off guard, Jian Anning had already walked ahead. Yu Zexiao, failing to spot her, even turned back and cursed, "Stupid woman, why are you walking so slowly? Hurry up!"
Jian Anning replied with an "Oh" and immediately said to Ling Yichuan, "Mr. Ling, sorry, I have to go now."
For the first time in his life, Ling Yichuan personally took it upon himself to investigate a woman’s identity, only to be led round in circles by her. He really couldn’t tell which words of Jian Anning were true and which were false.
She said she lived in the Shaughnessy area and worked in the HR department of a company, at least at a director level, no less. She could afford hair clips from Alexander de Paris and wore branded clothing yet was very low-key.
She also said that she and Yu Zexiao truly had no romantic feelings for each other and weren’t in a relationship.
