Chapter 53: Pity
Cyruz’s eyes darkened, his anger boiling past the point of control. With a sudden, furious growl, he slammed both palms down on the long dining table—this time harder than before. Plates clattered, silverware jumped, and several small dishes slid across the surface, tumbling down and shattering on the floor.
"You always act like you’re better than everyone!" Cyruz yelled, his voice echoing "You don’t care about anyone but yourself, and now you’re fooling Ellory too?! She’s just four years old, How dare you?! She doesn’t know how cruel you really are!"
But in the middle of his outburst, a small sound broke the tension.
A sniff.
Then another.
They all turned to see Ellory kneeling quietly on the floor, her tiny hands trying to scoop up the ruined dessert with trembling fingers.
Millie was the first to react, rushing to her side and gently trying to lift her up. Elias followed, his expression deeply concerned as he knelt beside her, whispering softly, "Young Lady Ellory, please don’t..."
Cyruz’s anger vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold wave of regret crashing down on him. He stumbled forward, crouching beside Ellory, his voice faltering.
"Ellory... I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to— It’s just, It’s unfair" he paused, struggling with the guilt. "I’m always here for you, you know that, right? Not like him. He doesn’t care. He never appreciates anything you do. But me... I’ve always been here."
Ellory slowly looked up at him, her eyes still wet—but it wasn’t sadness that stared back.
It was pure, unfiltered hatred.
