Chapter 25: Trapped
Elias bowed deeply and said, "I will leave you now."The maid bowed too and said, "Thank you, Butler Elias."
Now, the maid was alone in the room. She sighed and started to walk slowly while holding the paper with the rules. She went to the bathroom to freshen up. Then she looked at Axelius's dressing room, thinking about everything she needed to do before starting her new job.
After a few hours,
The maid stepped outside, clutching the crumpled paper of rules tightly in her hand. She had barely taken a few steps when she saw the other maids gathered by the corridor, their faces full of worry—and something more, like anger. Their eyes immediately fixed on her.
One of the maids, folding her arms tightly, spoke first with a sharp edge. "So, you're going to do everything by yourself now? Just one maid for him? That sounds impossible."
Another maid sneered, "I don't even know why he gets a special maid. Does he think he's better than all of us?" She glanced sideways, whispering loudly, "Why don't we just go tell the Duke? Maybe he'll see how unfair this is."
The first maid nodded, her lips curling into a smirk. "Exactly. The Duke should know what kind of demands this 'young master' makes. Acting like he's royalty or something."
A third maid joined in, shaking her head, "If it were me, I'd have refused that job. Why work for someone who treats his servants like pawns?"
The maids thwn stared at her new uniform with sharp eyes, whispering among themselves.
