Arc 4: Experience the Story - 13
I let out a bored yawn, stretching a bit as I watched the scene unfolding before me. The girls are deep in a one-sided conversation with their fellow classmates, while the contractors of these students are in quite the humiliating position—heads pressed to the ground, buttocks pointed to the ceiling, their arms awkwardly pinned behind their backs. It's almost comical, but none of them trigger any recollection of fictional characters from stories I know. Either they're extra powerful beings, or I simply haven't encountered their worlds in the media I've checked out.
After a moment, I casually shut down the Delayed Effect, allowing the space to return to normal. Now, anyone could enter the building again without restriction. I scan the area, half-expecting more people to show up, but there's no new activity. It's quiet, much quieter than it had been earlier in the morning. I suppose Featherine has decided to stop her little games, at least for now. No more sending unfortunate souls to their demise just for a fleeting moment of amusement.
Ruby steps forward, her sneer cutting through the tense atmosphere. "Now, tell us about your class assignments; otherwise, things might get ugly." She demands, her voice dripping with menace. Her sharp gaze pierces the students, and I can see the fear reflected in their eyes. "I'll let you know we're being merciful right now. At least none of you are dead."
Octavia, standing nearby, mutters under her breath, "Yeah, just a ton of blood loss, crippling limbs that'll need a whole lot of healing powers or some miracle items to fix all those injuries instantly." She pauses, shaking her head slightly. "Not to mention the eyeballs... why the eyes, though? All of them only have an eye left."
"And don't think you can call for any help." Weiss stepped forward with an air of authority, one hand resting on her hip. Her icy gaze lands on the students, sending a visible shiver through them. "I'll let you know now that I've already prepared a special, cruel torture technique. One that will make you wish for death." Her voice is calm, almost detached, as if discussing something as casual as the weather. "Even in your current state, it's my work to prevent you from dying despite how badly injured you are now. Therefore, after the torture, you'll still live, and how long that will last... well, that depends entirely on my mood."
I can't help but internally wince. Yikes. Cold doesn't even begin to describe it. And that level of sadism? It definitely reminds me of someone.
