Chapter 166: Sisters
Masatsuki Aozaki's gaze slowly swept over Rangiku Matsumoto and Yuhime in the distance.
Just as he had expected, the originally beautiful faces of the two women were now puffed up like little buns, their cheeks round and full of anger, as if they could hold two eggs inside. They looked unbelievably cute!
It was clear that these two beauties had gotten jealous over something.
"Are you two going to fight or not? Don't forget why we took the day off!"
At Masatsuki Aozaki's words, both Rangiku and Yuhime lightly flicked their silky hair.
Rangiku frowned and asked, "What should we do now? Did you come all this way just to fight me?"
The core of mastering Bankai lies in gaining the Zanpakutō's recognition. However, earning that recognition doesn't necessarily mean defeating it in battle.
Take Zangetsu, for example. The trial he set for Ichigo Kurosaki in the original timeline wasn't just a test of strength. In addition to fighting, Ichigo had to accurately pick out the real Zangetsu from among numerous strangely shaped Zanpakutō.
Masatsuki Aozaki's path to Bankai, however, was even more treacherous—he had to put forth every effort, exhausting both mind and body, to conquer Banshō Senran.
To this day, Masatsuki still remembers that experience vividly. The sight of the two sisters clinging to each other in their sleep remains fresh in his memory.
That battle had been nothing short of terrifying, lasting an entire three months without a single break.
