Chapter 171: No One Dares to Trouble You, Sun Wukong Do as You Please
Sun Wukong was indeed very curious about the so-called opportunity provided by the Buddha Ancestor.
"Amitabha Buddha!"
Upon hearing Sun Wukong ask, Sakyamuni Tathagata maintained a calm expression, then brought his hands together and chanted a Buddhist name.
Originally, according to the planning of Amitabha Buddha and Saint Zhunti, the Calamity of Measurement of the Journey to the West was supposed to involve Sun Wukong being suppressed for five hundred years, tormented daily by copper juice and iron water, and then rescued by Guanshiyin Bodhisattva.
This would make Sun Wukong feel grateful for being released, thus completing the Calamity of Measurement of the Journey to the West.
However, now there were too many variables.
Whether it was the initial occupation of Sun Wukong’s territory by the Demon King of Chaos or Sun Wukong’s current preparations to seal himself.
This forced Buddhism to make some changes.
Thinking of this, Sakyamuni Tathagata glanced at the Western Sumeru Pure Land, then turned back to Sun Wukong and said, "After five hundred years, a monk will be born in the Southern Continent Jambudvipa, within the territories of Great Tang, and will then travel to Western Heaven to worship the Buddha and seek the merit of Mahayana Buddhism. On the way to the West, if you can join his tutelage and protect him on the journey to the Great Thunderclap Monastery of the West, once successful, that will be the highest merit!"
"This would far exceed the benefits of your meditative contemplation and ascetic practices!"
At this moment, Sakyamuni Tathagata gently coaxed Sun Wukong, hoping he would understand that it was all for his good.
