[Defeated Level 2 Silver Grade Short Leg Hound(Demonized) with Good Performance- Grimoire is rewarded with 27 Experience Points.]
Miguel frowned looking at the new logs.
It turns out that the Short Leg Hound they faced was just a Level 2 Silver Grade demonized Beast.
However, it was proven to be too tough that he and the Scorching Water Tortoise combined were not able to beat it easily.
One must note that Miguel’s current strength should also be comparable to a Level 1 Silver Grade Beast. Paired with the Level 1 Silver Grade Scorching Water Tortoise, defeating the beast should not actually not be a problem.
However, after thinking about it carefully, Miguel realized that it should be normal.
Demonized beasts already had their strength multiplied after being demonized. Normally, they would always overpower those at the same level, as though they were a creature of a higher grade.
It was already a miracle enough that Miguel and the Scorching Water Tortoise was able to defeat it with their current level, and yet, Miguel was still dissatisfied about their performance.
He felt annoyed at his and the Scorching Water Tortoise’s performance, especially after thinking how Aaliyah managed to defeat a much stronger foe with little of his help.
Beasts and even humans that could cross-rank were rare and were considered as geniuses. For Aaliyah to still defeat a demonized beast which was supposed to be much stronger than her, shows her talent and capabilities.
’I guessed she is just that special, huh,’ Miguel thought to himself as he unsummoned the Scorching Water Tortoise to let it rest inside the grimoire.
It had exhausted itself to the point that it could not move even a single one of its chubby legs. If not for Miguel’s [Mystic Mend] soothing its injuries, it might have transformed into a speck of light and returned to the grimoire directly.
The grimoire not only acts as the middle-man between beast and summoners. It also takes care of the beasts while they were stored inside. Injuries would heal faster and their stamina would recover faster while resting inside as well.
Miguel walked to the body of the demonized Short Leg Hound and pulled the Volcanic Wyrm Sword embedded on it.
Miguel felt annoyed looking at this demonized beast appearance.
He could not accept the fact that it was stronger than him.
His gaze hovered at its front claws and realized that the form looked familiar. He recalled the wounds of the Luminous Giant Frog and guessed that it must be this beast who caused those wounds.
Thinking that, the Short Leg Hound might have returned for round two, but it met them instead.
And for it to escape the Luminous Giant Toad’s clutch, it was apparent that it was no simple Silver Grade Beast before it got demonized.
This also made him realize that demonized beasts actually attacked each other as well. They were truly mindless.
On the other hand, Miguel dissected the hound and checked if there was any Beast Core inside of it. However, he was disappointed upon realizing that there wasn’t any.
Its claws were sharp though, so Miguel pulled them out so that could use them later if given a chance.
Miguel then tried to burn the corpse, but to no avail. Its body was tenacious and no simple fire could burn it down unlike the previous demonized beasts he encountered.
He felt annoyed and due to that, Miguel was even tempted to just abandon the corpse here.
At this point, Miguel frowned and realized that something was truly wrong.
He forcefully calmed himself down as he summoned Aaliyah in a hurry.
"What’s wrong?" Aaliyah immediately asked the moment she was summoned.
A look of worry was on her face as she looked at Miguel’s unusual countenance.
He looked pale.
"Something is wrong with me..." Miguel muttered as he took off his shirt.
Ever since the battle earlier, he already realized that he was not with his usual self.
Aside from having a cloudy judgment and reaction, he also realized that he was getting easily irritated and could no longer control his emotions like before.
Emotions were a beautiful thing. From his previous life, Miguel did not want to lose it, but he learned to control it to not cloud his judgment.
He did not know when it started, but he knew that this was not something good.
Miguel’s heart beat faster as his mind began to race thinking of what actually happened.
He sat down in front of Aaliyah and stated in a hurried voice, "Quick, check if something’s wrong with my body."
It was dark and gloomy. Only the radiance of the moon and the countless stars illuminating the surroundings.
Looking at Miguel’s topless body, Aaliyah’s cheek burned red behind the mask.
She was flustered and could not react for a few moments.
However, when she heard Miguel’s voice full of anxiety, she gritted her teeth and mustered up her courage to look at his body directly.
A small fire was condensed on the tip of her fingertips. Lighting the area in front of her... specifically, Miguel’s body.
She stared at it intently, her gaze hovering over to his neck, down to chest, and then to his stomach packed with a slightly bulging abdominal muscles.
The shadow created by the small fire on her fingertips contoured Miguel’s developing muscle even more.
Aaliyah gulped a mouthful of saliva, her cheek red in embarrassment behind the mask as she assessed Miguel’s body carefully.
"Something wrong?" Miguel’s voice resounded on her ears upon noticing that she had stopped for a brief moment.
"N-no. It looks normal," Aaliyah replied hurriedly as she moved away from Miguel’s gaze, going over to his back.
The fire on her hand intensified, as though reflecting the embarrassment she felt after looking at Miguel’s contoured abs for too long.
The next moment, as her gaze landed on Miguel’s back, a gasp of shock immediately escaped her mouth.
"Oh my..."
