Chapter 1564: Legacy Era Part 34
"Haha, you will be defeated here!"
Carmen laughed sinisterly and deployed her hidden piece.
"Did you seriously think I can’t do math?" Xu Feng snickered at her sly move. He quickly responded with a defensive team himself while sending out utility tools in her open area.
"Heh, you think I don’t know that you know about my hidden piece that I know you will retaliate in response?" Carmen smirked and activated a defensive formation.
Soon, the utility tools that were thrown at her side collided with the formation, resulting in a fierce explosion.
Needless to say, Carmen successfully defended with a single formation, whereas Xu Feng had exhausted nearly all his utility tools.
"Very clever." Xu Feng clapped his hands and praised. "But you should really pay more attention to the utility tools combination."
"Huh?"
She was confused, but soon, she received a warning that the ground beneath her had become fragile.
"Bye bye~" He waved his hand from the other side and shifted one of the Mage pieces to launch a long-range fireball.
Nothing flashy, and nothing big.
Just a tiny fireball that resembled how one would light a match.
Yet that tiny flame alone triggered an implosion, resulting in Carmen’s fortress collapsing in an instant.
KABOOM!
"NOT FAIR!" Instantly, Carmen cried foul and pursued him once the simulation was over.
"You cheated again! How was I supposed to know that?"
"Haha, that’s why practice makes perfect~."
Xu Feng chuckled and ran away from her pursuit. But soon, he spotted Serene Paragon from afar.
"Oh, we have a guest here. We shouldn’t show such an embarrassing sight." He quickly tried to convince Carmen to stop the pursuit.
Alas, Carmen would be a fool to be swindled by him.
The two of them had been informed by Brutus during the simulation, so she wasn’t surprised by a guest.
"Let me just give you a punch, and then we can greet the guest." Carmen hissed.
"No, that’ll injure your hand. I cannot do that."
"Oh, that’s it!"
Soon, another fierce wild goose chase commenced.
"Am I just here as a background character?" Serene Paragon twitched her mouth and smiled bitterly.
The other guilds were busy searching for Legacies and exploring the new maps, but the Vanguard Guild appeared to be very laidback.
It was almost comical how the other guilds constantly tried to advertise them hoarding the valuable and monopolizing things.
While she waited, Xu Feng was finally caught by Carmen.
"I dare you to run again." She clicked her tongue. She then gave him a series of light and playful punches on the arm.
"I’m wrong." He cried in agony and pleaded for forgiveness.
’Seriously... this is the aloof and fearsome Vanguard Guild Leader?’ Serene Paragon felt like a circuit in her brain had just been deep-fried.
What felt like an eternity was finally over.
"I didn’t think the invitation was to meet a different spectacle of the Vanguard Guild Leader." She commented.
"Apologies for the sight." Xu Feng cleared his throat.
"Welcome to Haven Wind City. As compensation, you get to be the first non-Vanguard member to access this new training hall."
"Hah..." Serene Paragon was rather speechless. She glanced at the new arena and inquired, "What was that simulation earlier? It looks like those chess games where you deploy pieces and the AI does the battling for you."
"It’s identical to that, but not quite." Xu Feng mused and explained the general rules, as well as the actual benefit from doing this simulation.
Sure enough, Serene Paragon’s expression turned slightly pale.
What training simulation?
This was basically a general camp!
It was literally a simulation that could produce numerous competent generals who would be able to lead large groups of people and account for a lot of variables.
She could already imagine how crazy the Super Guild would become if they learned of this simulation.
They would either do their absolute best to steal such an item or destroy it to prevent others from using it.
"Are you not afraid of me leaking this to others?" She twitched her mouth and asked.
Had this product been produced in their Paragon guild, it would have a strict policy. The confidentiality clause would go insane too, and only a select few people could qualify to partake in such a simulation.
"We’re not planning on keeping this a secret anyway." Xu Feng chuckled in amusement. To them, they probably thought this was something that needed to be kept a secret.
But Xu Feng knew that gatekeeping this process would be a foolish way.
With this simulation, he could technically control multiple guilds.
Not to mention, it was free data gathering for his guild.
Whatever they do in the simulation would automatically be stored and could be retrieved by him at any time.
Then when he wanted to upgrade the simulation with the new data, only his Vanguard Guild would be able to utilize those new functions.
So why in the world would he gatekeep such a golden goose?
He would receive payment from those who wish to access the simulation, have a leash over the numerous guilds who wish to train their leading players, and earn information from how they would operate.
Once a large amount of data was obtained, Xu Feng would have an easier life if some hostile guild wanted to deal with him.
’The Super Guild used such a method in the past timeline and cemented themselves as one of the top. But too bad for them, this method is now monopolized by me in the current timeline.’ He was honestly feeling good about himself.
"Anyway, as an apology, you can test it out with both the AI data creation of Lunar Wraith and me." He gestured with his hand to Serene Paragon to give it a go.
Needless to say, Serene Paragon didn’t stand on ceremony and immediately hopped onto the arena stage.
It would be a lie to say she wasn’t intrigued by the simulation.
’I don’t know what schemes he’s up to, but I suppose it’s a win-win.’ She definitely knew there was no such thing as a free lunch, but she couldn’t be bothered by his scheme.
