Chapter 1561 - 1456: As Fast as a Tornado
"Heh, weaklings just love making excuses!" Luo Yong laughed with pure disdain.
"You’re the weakling! I’m clearly worried you guys won’t be able to keep up with me!" Qin Hao spoke up again, drawing another burst of laughter from the group.
"Hahaha!" Luo Yong finished laughing and clutched his belly. "I admit you’re an idiot! From now on, I can’t be bothered arguing with you, or I’ll end up making myself stupid too!"
"Why waste words on a fool like this!" Huang Cuicui couldn’t stop laughing either.
Lei Xiuzhu finished laughing, then said with a playful look, "Chu Xi, you think you’re fast. How about we have a little race?"
"A race? How do we race?" Qin Hao put on a dopey expression.
Lei Xiuzhu was even more delighted inside. She hooked a finger and said, "Aren’t you super confident in your legs? Then let’s see who reaches Kang City first. If you lose, you’ll have to call me Grandma every time you see me, how about that?"
"Grandma?" Ma Ji and Luo Yong both looked at Lei Xiuzhu with open admiration, thinking that this Senior Sister Lei really knew how to play, actually wanting to toy with a fool.
"Grandma? Are you that old?" Who knew that one sentence from Qin Hao would make Lei Xiuzhu so mad her lungs nearly exploded.
She snorted, "Then call me Great-Aunt!"
"Oh, Great-Aunt, huh? Sure." Qin Hao said foolishly, "Then if I win, you’ll have to call me Uncle!"
"Deal! Young Master it is!" Lei Xiuzhu hadn’t even considered the possibility of losing, and agreed on the spot.
Luo Yong and Huang Cuicui, seeing this, were tempted as well.
"Senior Sister Lei..."
"Can I join too?"
Lei Xiuzhu looked at Qin Hao and said with a smile, "Chu the Fool, what do you say?"
Qin Hao rubbed his nose. "We’re racing anyway, if you want in then all of you come. As long as you’re willing to call me Uncle when you lose, that’s fine!"
He was surprisingly straightforward.
Huang Cuicui and Luo Yong were both overjoyed.
Huang Cuicui said, "Looks like I’m about to gain a grandson!"
"I don’t like being your grandpa. You can call me Uncle Yong when the time comes!" Two rare flashes of delight showed in Luo Yong’s narrow eyes.
Qin Hao couldn’t be bothered with the pair. He looked at Ma Ji and said, "Senior Brother Ma, aren’t you joining?"
"Uh... I’ll pass on the fun." Ma Ji was extremely speechless; bullying a fool like this was something he really couldn’t bring himself to do.
"Alright then! Let’s head out!"
Qin Hao shouted loudly, stepped forward—and accidentally trod on a rock.
His body swayed and he almost fell flat on his face, only managing to steady himself by grabbing a tree on the roadside.
This staggering, stumbling motion made Lei Xiuzhu, Huang Cuicui, and Luo Yong burst into fresh peals of laughter.
"This idiot is really hilarious!"
"Ugly and stupid—my stomach’s about to split from laughing!"
...
Two streaks of embarrassed anger flashed across Qin Hao’s face. He snapped, "Quit yapping! I’m heading out!"
Though the three mocked him relentlessly, they had no intention of going easy on him.
The first to move was Lei Xiuzhu.
When she turned around, arcs of electricity coiled around her, and a large amount of Spiritual Qi gathered under her feet.
Both slender ankles were completely shrouded in blue light.
Then, with a light tap of her beautiful feet, her whole body seemed to float into the air, each step spanning several zhang.
In less than a moment, she had already shot far away, shrinking to a mere black dot.
"That’s Senior Sister Lei’s strength? She’s so strong!"
The three remaining on the spot were all secretly clicking their tongues.
Huang Cuicui was the first to snap out of it. "My speed can’t compare to Senior Sister’s. I’d better get moving, or I’ll fall way behind!"
With that, she grabbed Ma Ji’s arm and said, "Senior Brother, let’s go together!"
"Alright..." Ma Ji, helpless, could only follow along.
Just as the two set off, Luo Yong let out a shout. "Chu the Fool, I’ll be waiting for you at the finish line!"
With that, he followed in their footsteps and took off.
This time, only Qin Hao was left here.
"These guys... do they really take me for a fool?"
Once everyone had gone, the simple, honest look vanished from Qin Hao’s face, and his black eyes turned sly beyond measure.
"Sigh, looks like I’ll be adding three nieces and nephews to the family today." Qin Hao wore a look of utter helplessness as he shifted his feet and walked toward Kang City.
Strangely enough, he appeared to be just walking, each step not covering much ground.
Yet every time his foot came down, he crossed five zhang.
By the time he had taken five steps, he was already at the horizon!
...
...
Under the blazing sun, three figures were sprinting flat out. It was Ma Ji, Huang Cuicui, and Luo Yong.
Spiritual Qi surged beneath their feet, every step launching them one or two zhang forward, their speed astonishing.
Even while running, the smile didn’t leave Huang Cuicui’s face. "Haha, Senior Brothers, what do you think that fool is doing right now?"
Luo Yong gave a scornful grin. "Of course he’s standing there crying! With that kind of IQ, he doesn’t even realize he’s walked right into a trap. What a complete idiot!"
"Don’t be so harsh..." Ma Ji couldn’t help feeling a pang of guilt.
"Senior Brother, don’t feel bad. It’s not like we hit him or cursed him, we’re just making him call us elders..."
Huang Cuicui said with a smile, "It’s exactly like when we used to mess with the little kids in the village when we were young."
"Exactly. To be honest, that fool is so dumb I can’t even bring myself to hit him. But being called Uncle and all that? I’m definitely up for it."
Luo Yong was in the middle of talking when he heard wind behind them. He blurted out on instinct, "Something’s behind us?"
The other two had sensed it as well. All three turned around at the same time, but saw nothing.
Whoosh!
A blast of fierce wind swept past in the distance.
The three turned their heads again and saw a howling gale.
"Is that a Tornado?"
Huang Cuicui wasn’t entirely sure.
"Looks like it... but how could there be a Tornado out of nowhere?" Luo Yong was completely puzzled.
Ma Ji’s eyes narrowed, and he suddenly exclaimed, "No, that’s not it! There seems to be someone in the middle of that Tornado!"
The other two rubbed their eyes and stared carefully, then both showed shocked expressions.
"There really is someone! What the hell is that?!"
"How can someone survive inside the wind? That makes no sense!"
The two were utterly dumbfounded, while Ma Ji’s expression turned grave. "I get it now. It must be that person’s speed being too fast that caused the Tornado to form..."
At these words, Huang Cuicui and Luo Yong both sucked in a sharp breath.
Speed so fast it creates a Tornado.
Just how fast is that?
It was simply beyond imagination!
"Who on earth is that?" Once the shock passed, this became the question all three shared.
Unfortunately, none of them knew the answer.
Because that person had left too quickly just now—they hadn’t even seen what clothes he was wearing.
...
...
Less than twenty li from Kang City.
Lei Xiuzhu was racing forward, leaving a trail of afterimages in her wake.
The official road wasn’t deserted; from time to time, horse-drawn carts passed by.
Lei Xiuzhu’s appearance startled the nearby horses, making them whinny and bolt, nearly overturning the carts.
Lei Xiuzhu was long used to this sort of thing and paid it no mind. Instead, she was picturing Chu Xi’s face in her head.
