Chapter 60: Dragon Queen vs Silk Vampire
The claws dug into Manasseh’s forearm. as the vampire gritted her teeth, Alice’s magic surged as her arm coiled in twirls of silk. The crowd gasped. Adrei frowned as she breathed a small fire before the silken forearm stretched outward and floated Manasseh along the gust, charcoal smint on her back as she landed before dashing.
Stalls and crowds stared as Adrei bolted from one to another, graceful measured movement before another jump-step from the side, her claw mid-air collided into Manasseh’s waist in a flash. Manasseh didn’t dare spare a glance as red silks twirled her injury, the claw’s owner flew herself out staring, but not before a chant from the Dragon’s lips.
<Guts, Blood, Aflame>
A silent scream escaped as Manasseh’s step halted, her guts embered from a flame spawning from mere words. The dragon rolled on the ground as she bolted again, her claw stretching back for a final blow on the head.
It can’t end like this....not....Manasseh gasped as she glanced at the crowd, grabbed and hurled a human behind her, the greenhead’s smile be damned under her vengance. The dragon frowned as her palm tapped the ’human missile’ as he was damped to the ground yelping. The scaled feet in the air curled as they stood, the draconic eyes still at the running prey as the dragon dashed with an annoyed scowl.
As if clinging to the last lifeline, Manasseh didn’t glance back as she tapped and hurled more missiles, Adrei intercepting with grace. Pace slowed, more screams echoed, yet the vampire’s back still shivered at the monarch’s bloodlust closing in on her visage, the guts still burning and steaming from her stomach.
Clicking her tongue, the gasping vampire formed a plan as she began darting from humans to humans, stalls to stalls. The draconic lens narrowed at the zig-zaging that will only slow her down, before they frowned glimmers of red threads sticking between crowds and stalls.
She groaned at the thorny scheme, as another chant naturally flowed.
<Slither, Straighten, Thinning>
