Chapter 120: Attractive yet dark feelings
"All this time, she had been falling for him, yet she acted like a devoted wife, going after him even when she was asked to marry him in place of her sister.
Despite having no complaints, she remained in the marriage for many years, playing the role of a beautiful, obedient wife. However, he never gave her what she truly desired; he never cared for her.
Although she was always there to support him in every way, she couldn’t help him with business or financial matters because she wasn’t the strong, capable person he needed. Yet, she didn’t complain; she simply continued to be there for him.
In her past life, she had shown him love and devotion, but he ignored her due to his arrogance and misunderstanding. His heart belonged to Jennifer, and he treated her coldly.
Rose’s anger boiled over, and before she knew it, she had slapped Rolan. The pilot, who had just finished cleaning the plane, turned to see what the commotion was about.
Rolan’s eyes turned cold as he looked at Rose, but then they calmed. "Should I turn the other side so you can slap me again?" he asked. Rose gazed at him with deep bitterness, her feelings of hatred and resentment clear.
She was no longer the submissive wife she once was. She had suffered through a loveless marriage and died because of his neglect. Now, she was unwilling to let him easily win her back.
Rolan noticed a sudden change in Rose’s demeanor, her eyes turning cold and her expression transforming into one of hostility. He couldn’t help but wonder what had triggered this shift. His hand gently touched her face, and he asked, "What have I done to you?" His deep, hurt voice conveyed a sense of genuine concern. "Rose, don’t keep things from me. Whatever you feel I’ve done wrong, please tell me, and I’ll repent. I’m willing to change, even if I don’t know what I’ve done."
Rose’s eyes darted away, unable to maintain eye contact. She was torn between revealing the truth about her past life, her rebirth, and his betrayal, and the fear that doing so might lead to unforeseen consequences. A part of her felt that her rebirth was a miracle, a secret that only she should know. "Everything’s okay, Rolan. I’m not offended or sad," she said, forcing a smile and pulling her face away from his arms.
