The Substitute Bride Is Reborn and Loves Her Husband No more

Chapter 14: Temptations

Rose's back was to Rolan as she lay rigidly on the bed. With his small body tucked in between them, Tobi had fallen asleep quickly, but it didn't feel like a strong enough barrier to stop Rolan's plans. With the least amount of playful pressure, his fingertips brushed her stomach as his arm hung over her waist. Rose tried to push it away by grabbing his wrist, but he tightened his hold just enough to hold it. His voice was low and husky as he said, his breath warming the back of her neck.

"You said to stay on my side, but you're the one drawing me in, Rose." His fingers slid lower, tracing circles against her hip, daring her to react. She clenched her jaw, determined not to respond, but the heat spreading under her skin betrayed her. His hand moved back up, brushing just below the curve of her breast, his mouth now dangerously close to her ear. "Still pretending you don't want me here?" The deep rasp of his voice, the way his body pressed slightly against her from behind, made her heart pound harder. She bit her lip, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a response. But the tension only thickened as his thumb brushed against her ribs, slow and deliberate.

Rose's breath hitched, her heart hammering against her chest as Rolan shifted closer, his hand splaying fully across her stomach now, pressing her back into his chest. Tobi's peaceful breathing filled the silence, a stark contrast to the storm brewing inside her. "Rolan," she hissed, voice trembling, but he only nuzzled his face into her neck, lips ghosting along her pulse.

"Hush... "Don't wake him," he whispered, his lips just touching the delicate flesh. "Unless you want him to hear how easily you melt for me." The heat coming from his body caused her stomach to twist in a way that was both unquestionable and infuriating. His fingers curled and gripped her hip, pressing her closer to him. Although she clenched her thighs, the resistance on her face was shown by the ache that was growing inside of her. Rolan grinned at her neck, his fangs brushing against it just enough to give her a chill. Rose, you're shaking. Admit you don't want me to, or tell me to stop."

"Stop it, Rolan," Rose bit out, her cheeks flushed.

She couldn't believe it was her own self reacting to him in such a way. Why was she reacting this way? She thought she had no feelings for him anymore. But why did it seem like she was still her past self? She was still the stupid Rose who was obedient to him.

And would happily open her legs for him just because he showed her a little attention.

'No, Rose, snap out of it. He is with your sister. You will die because of them,' the voice said in her mind, and Rose furrowed her brow, showing determination to resist him.

"Rolan... In the name of God, I beg you. Please try to be respectful in front of a child, even if that child is sleeping. I don't think his wolf might be," Rose, breathing heavily, told him. Yes, Darius might be awake by now. When Tobi was asleep, he was awake, and when Tobi was awake, he was asleep during the day—unless he found something interesting to keep him awake. They protected each other in the circle, repeatedly.
