The Substitute Bride Is Reborn and Loves Her Husband No more

Chapter 5: New style

A man laughed on the hospital bed with some drip attached to him. His face carried exhaustion as if he had undergone tremendous pain.

The door opened with a butler in a black uniform walking inside.

The butler bowed to the man and said, "Alpha, it is time for your meal. You need to eat something."

Roland creased his brow, staring at the butler and the plate of food. "Take it away. I'm not eating anything," he said, closing his eyes, about to sleep, waiting for the butler to leave.

"Stop doing this to yourself, Roland," the butler said, his tone turning serious. "It has been three years since Rose left, and you have been like this. Why stress yourself so much?"

Roland's arrogant expression faltered when he heard the butler mention Rose. "Don't talk about her again in my presence. I don't care about her. To hell with Rose," he said, his tone cold and his voice high.

The butler chuckled instead at his words. "You say that you don't care about her, then why are you like this, Alpha? If you don't love her, the mate bond shouldn't be affecting you like this," the butler said, shaking his head.

"Stop it!" Roland ordered, glaring at the butler. "I don't love that woman. She came into my life by accident, and she had the mind to run away, leaving me without saying anything. Don't mention her name to me, Alfred."

"Yes, master, I understand," Alfred said, nodding his head as if he had understood what Roland was saying and wouldn't speak further on the matter.

But Roland was sensitive; he could see the sarcasm in the butler's gaze.

"I said I don't love her. Don't give me that look," Roland roared, pointing his finger at Alfred.
