Chapter 74: _Been A Fool
When my fist connected with Negan’s face, I felt nothing but pure satisfaction as he stumbled backward.
People sitting around us scurried away for safety as my wolf growled inside me, ready to come out and tear this traitorous Beta to shreds.
However, just when I was about to land another punch on the disoriented fool, Phoebe placed herself in front of me, blocking my path.
"K– Kaene, stop this!" She pleaded. "W– We kept this from you all these while because we were ashamed of ourselves. We didn’t want to hurt you, so we decided to pretend like it never happened. And we made sure it never happened again."
I arched an eyebrow, listening to her chattering while occasionally glaring at Negan who cleaned off blood from his mouth.
The room became silent and everyone seemed to be listening to Phoebe’s confession as well.
"I don’t know what came over me that night, Kaene." She continued. "I... I was hurt by your rejection and ended up drinking too much. And then I was in heat and Negan was the closest person to me and seemed..."
She trailed off when she saw the disgusted look on my face.
Any more of her bullshit story and I might just throw up.
"The point is, I fucked up badly," Phoebe muttered. "We both fucked up. No amount of explanation is going to change that or erase what we’ve done. But I’m begging you..."
She dropped to her knees, causing some people to gasp.
