Chapter 14: _Had Enough
"I– I have to go, Beta Negan." I stuttered, subconsciously placing my arms over my breasts as if he hadn't already squeezed the life out of them during our passionate lovemaking.
However, before I could step down from the bed, he grabbed my elbow, forcing me to glance at him.
"Beta Negan, please." I begged, my mouth quivering with a nauseating mix of embarrassment and fear.
I needed to get out of here before someone caught us. Before Kaene catches us.
Just then, the Beta sat up on the bed, using his knees to support himself while placing his hands on both my shoulders.
He made me look him in the eyes, causing me to swallow hard.
Now that I'd gotten the release I so desperately needed, I didn't see how hot he was again. All I saw now was the face of the man whom I cheated on my mate with.
"So we're back with you calling me by my title?" He chuckled dryly, lowering his gaze while shaking his head. "I knew we would regret this."
He knew we would regret this?
My face heated up with anger as I yanked my arm out of his grip. "If you knew we'd regret this, why did you carry through with it? You could've easily–"
"Easily what, Phoebe?" Negan's voice suddenly lost the kindness and calm that I'd grown fond of, his gaze becoming stern. "You're in heat, Phoebe. And YOU threw yourself at me. Not to mention you're extremely attractive..." He trailed off.
