Chapter 227 - B2 | 72
Ashley
As soon as I purchase the skill for three thousand skill points, a small blizzard of eternal snow begins to rampage right in front of me. With the blizzard itself only being about a few feet in diameter. Then the blizzard begins to shrink more and more until it takes on the form of a small tiger cub.
The tiger cub is pure white in color with some black stripes. And it looks like a baby version of the Tiger of Eternal Snow.
Almost immediately after seeing it, I rush forward and pull it into my arms to hug it. Trying as hard as I can not to make any noise since that would be embarrassing if I made any sort of squealy sound or something while doing this.
And despite being suddenly pulled into my arms, the little tiger cub starts to purr while rubbing its face against my own.
It's so cute!
After rubbing my cheek on the little ball of fluff for an entire minute, I finally sit down on the icy floor with my legs crossed before putting the tiger cub in my lap. Then I look at the skill's description again.
{Eternal Companion – UNIQUE SKILL – Manifests an eternal companion for the Tigress of Eternal Snow. This companion will follow them forever, and they are manifested with their own ice energy and the ability to regenerate their own ice energy and the power to use the Eternal Snow skill. Should the companion ever die, it can be revived at the price of the user losing all of their ice energy for half a year and being unable to restore it during that time.}
This little companion will be very helpful if they're also able to use eternal snow. It's like getting a permanent ally who also has a True Damage skill.
I can't help but smile as I pet the little fella, stroking its head.
It doesn't look like the companion can talk or anything, but that's fine. As long as it can understand directions.
On another note, is it a boy or a girl?
I stare at the thing for a moment before Chaos answers, "It's gender is the same as the original Tiger of Eternal Snow. So it's male."
Got it.
It's cute either way.
I hug the little guy again as he purrs some more.
What should I name him?
Should I just do a basic name?
I purse my lips for a moment before moving the little guy a little away from my body to get a clear look at him. Only to feel the urge to hug him return when he starts reaching his little paws towards me like he wants to return to hugging.
Hmm, no, Snow would be too basic for a name.
So…
I eventually give a firm now of my head as I state, "From now on your name is Leonidas the First, the Lord of Winter. Or Leo for short."
For some reason, I swear I hear someone snorting in amusement. As if trying to hold back laughter.
But I ignore it.

Leo seems to like it as he lets out a short little mew sound and tries to reach me again. So I hug him close once more. Because cuteness should be appreciated.
"T-the forums and broadcasts are going wild right now," Chaos says, sounding like he's barely keeping himself serious as well. "Just thought I should let you know."
"Don't care," I tell him with a straight face while hugging the fluff ball. And I continue hugging the fluff ball for a few more minutes before finally letting him go and standing up.
Alright. Time to test out my new skills.
I stretch a bit now that I've had the healing power of little Leo refreshing my mind. Then I go ahead and try out my new skill.
Eternal Snow.
Or, to be specific, I use ice magic. Since I do have ice magic. Albeit a lower level manipulation.
Wait a second.
I glance at the Tigress of Eternal Snow Skill Tree to find the next skill to be exactly what I expect it to be.
{Perfect Ice Mana Manipulation – UNIQUE SKILL – This skill grants the user the ability to turn their natural mana into ice mana and use the mana to perform ice magic spells of all kinds. Additionally, the user may experiment and create new runes of their own for spell-crafting purposes.} – [Spend 3000 Skill Points to unlock this skill.]
So I purchase it without hesitation despite the three thousand skill point price.
At this point I already know a good bit about how to use spells in general. So I just use some basic ice spells. Making the ice energy around me fall under my control.
Only to realize something.
Specifically that I don't have anything to test the ice on.
Um…
This is awkward.
I can't exactly test True Damage when I don't have anything to hit.
Well then.
"You have plenty of test subjects in the Final Stairwell," Chaos says, making me blink once in response. "Erebos' pawns are waiting for you there to team up on you. I tried to gently persuade Erebos, but he doesn't seem to have been persuaded."
Gently… persuade?
Something… tells me that's not exactly true. But I'll keep my mouth shut.
"No, I definitely tried to gently persuaded him," Chaos says without a hint of shame. "Anyway, those Successors should make for good training dummies. Just turn them into statues."
He's trying to redirect the conversation away from it…
Whatever. For now, I should practice my ice mana manipulation.
I should also go ahead and get some more ice skills from other Skill Trees to add onto my ice attacks.
After all, not doing so would be a waste with Eternal Snow.
Especially since I have plenty of skill points right now from the Unique Monster.
So I unlock several ice specific skills before finally turning my attention to the little cub that's been pawing at my legs. At which point I squat down and ask, "Little Leo, could you try using ice magic?"
Leo looks at me before mewing with a nod and jumping back. Following which he shocks me with the sight of a massive blizzard appearing and rampaging around with hail and snow going around in every direction so quickly that I'm pretty sure it would tear something inside of it apart with ease.
I find myself gaping in shock at the sight of the little tiger cub outdoing me in ice magic already.
Then I finally close my mouth and walk over to Leo before patting him on the head. Instantly making him cut off the attack and mew at me with what looks like a proud look in his eyes.
So adorable…
I find myself hugging him again on instinct, making the little guy purr in response.
"You really do like cute things, don't you?" Chaos comments, sounding amused.
"Just cats with soft fur," I answer while still hugging Leo.
I hear Chaos chuckling at that. But I ignore him as I begin practicing with my ice skills to make sure they're up to snuff before I try them out on those Successors.
And while I do that, I also make sure to glance at the next skill in the Tigress of Eternal Snow Skill Tree. Only to find it to be cold immunity. Which won't be of any use against the Successors.
Or at least, that's what I think until I try using ice skills that envelop me as well. At which point I realize my own ice can end up freezing me.
So I purchase this skill too for an additional three thousand skill points.
Because I'd rather not get frozen by my own magic.
It wasn't a problem for my Queen of Destruction Skill Tree since my destruction True Damage skill is targeted. Unlike my Tigress of Eternal Snow which just alters my ice energy.
Plus I already had a very high resistance to destruction thanks to my other Skill Trees. Even though I haven't found the destruction immunity skill yet.
But it's a major problem with Tigress of Eternal Snow.
Because I'd rather not always be causing True Damage to myself when I use ice magic.
That'd just be a bad idea.
Once I finish training my ice mana manipulation and trying out my other ice skills, I finally take a deep breath before heading with little Leo towards the portal.
Time to deal with the nuisances.
