I end up asking Ethan quite a few questions over the course of a couple hours. All about his relationship with Astrid.
How they first met, what he likes about her, how often they spend time together, when they first met, when he started liking her, and so on. One question after another.
And it isn’t until I’m finally satisfied that I leave, heading towards the edge of the Dimensional Blocks. Or more specifically, towards Dimensional Block #1.
Of course, when I arrive at Dimensional Block #1, I make sure to casually mention to Lucas when I meet with him that Astrid is dating someone. Then I mention who it is and that they’ve already slept together. Since they apparently have.
And Lucas shows a rather amusing reaction to it all, as I was hoping for.
His eyes narrow and he mutters, “Oh, really?”
Then he goes on about how he was already planning to visit Astrid the next day. Which I quickly learn after that was a lie when I ask his assistant the next day.
An assistant complaining about the sudden change in his schedule.
I chuckle as I head out towards the border of the first Dimensional Block. Where the corrupted creatures are invading from.
This is what they get for blindsiding me with their sudden advance in their relationship.
Also for Astrid’s long lecture.
I’m sure she’ll be very happy that I told Lucas for her.
Still. All that aside, I do feel satisfied with her choice.
So beyond this little prank, I hope they have a good life together.
And if he hurts Astrid I’ll tear his legs off.
Anyway, when I arrive at the border, I find tens of thousands of people already fighting the corrupted creatures. Holding them off at the border without actually making much progress beyond keeping them from moving further into the Block.
I float high above them for a moment as I watch before letting out a sigh at the sight of the display below me.
Then I activate my True Form, making a massive pillar of quantum energy explode all around me going from the sky straight down to crash into the ground. Following which I transform, growing my batlike-draconic wings and my horns as my scythe appears in my hand.
All as a notification appears in my vision.

Corruption Immunity: As one of the Quantum Beings holding a role to the universe, you are fully immune to the corruption of the other side. Living Singularity: You are one of the sources of energy. A living singularity. All energy in the surroundings will be drawn to you, made to enter you, and feed your soul. Special Quantum Resistance: You are the Reaper of all. This includes the Quantum Beings. Therefore you are resistant to the special role-specific quantum energies of each of the ten other roles. However, as you are only 4/10th complete, this skill is limited to just a resistance towards the energies of the Role Trials you have completed. Current Role resistances gathered: Quantum Architect, Quantum Scribe, Quantum Cleaner, Quantum Archon Quantum Resonance: You resonate with the quantum energy around you, stabilizing reality itself and making it more difficult for other beings to alter reality around you.
