Chapter 100: Betrayal
"Who is she, Duke?"
"I have never once seen her with you," Crown Prince said while looking at Vix.
"Greetings, Crown Prince!" Vix finally opened her mouth and spoke.
"Greetings, young lady! But I still didn’t get your relationship with the Duke?" He kept on asking the same thing.
"This will be revealed soon, Your Highness the Crown Prince, so it is better not to dwell on this too much," Duke said and walked toward the court session, while Crown Prince’s eyes were still fixed on Vix.
"Duke, are you sure this is going to be okay? I’m not sure what you are going to do, but this prince has been staring at me so much. I’m so uncomfortable," Vix whispered to the Duke.
"It is okay," he said while escorting her inside the court session where the emperor was shackled in metal cuffs and locked in a cage like a criminal.
"I greet every judicial member of the empire, and I’m glad I have been given a chance to state my point here in this court," the Duke said.
"It is a rule, Duke. This case revolves around your parents’ death. Of course, your place is important here. You need to be here to state your opinion no matter what," the judicial member said.
"But before that, I would like to mention another criminal who has played a big role in this matter. He had been living in my place for years, disguising his crime, and now it has been revealed, and he will say what you want to know," the Duke said, while the guards pulled the strings connected to the cage where Grant had been placed. He had been brutally injured, but he had no fight left in him.
"Who is it, Duke?" The Crown Prince asked.
"He used to be the butler of the Agnes house. But for a few days, we have been getting assassination attacks on the Duchess, and one of the main culprits already died, leaving the butler a suspect," he said.
