Chapter 118: New Responsibilities
Rob took the seat calmly and looked at Mr. Gibson. Mr. Gibson watched Rob for a while, before letting out a sigh. He massaged his brows a little and spoke.
"First, that issue in your contract, it was Robin’s work. He handles the drafting of contracts and all the other stuff regarding them. I wasn’t aware of the situation till it came to light yesterday," Mr. Gibson spoke in a guilty manner.
Rob inwardly snorted. The old fox was putting the entire blame on Robin. He believed the first two statements, but he didn’t believe that Mr. Gibson wasn’t aware of the irregularities in his contract.
"I understand," Rob nodded, as it was the only thing he could do at this time.
"I hope there is no dissatisfaction on your end. I have personally reviewed the contract yesterday. There were no other issues with it. If you want, we can redraft the contract and add that clause."
"It is fine Mr. Gibson. That’s a minor issue. We don’t need to waste time with that. I am sure there are other pressing issues for you to deal with."
"But, I am worried about Diana and Marie’s contract status. If there is any issue with it, I hope I will be notified early so that I can change my plans accordingly," Rob diverted the topic skillfully.
He wasn’t stupid enough to willingly tie himself in these uncertain times. He could see Mr. Gibson’s lips thin a bit after hearing him speak. It was clear that he was hoping Rob would be willing to amend the contract.
"You don’t need to worry about that. Desmond had already taken the initiative to reach out to them. They will be coming in to renegotiate their contracts today," Mr. Gibson smiled, while waving his hands.
"In that case, I am relieved," Rob replied genuinely.
Rob didn’t care much about Marie Dawson. She was just there to fill up numbers. He could easily find someone else to fill that spot or even reduce the wrestlers in the match.
However, it was a different story with Diana. He had invested a substantial amount of storytime in Diana. It would be a great blow to lose her. Diana’s story was just starting. There was still a lot he could do with her character.
