Chapter 330: The Liora Palace Incident [2]
They were all seated on the same level.
Three high chairs of the exact same height and decor had been placed at the banquet hall.
The King and the Queen, alongside Princess Rinna and Eula, led Lillian toward the high chairs.
She sat at the far left, the middle one occupied by the King, and the right most was taken by Queen Jenna.
Princess Lillian’s two female knights stood just behind her, and the small girl who came with them sat on top of Lillian’s lap.
Feeling as if the King and the Queen did not even exist, every other eye in the hall settled onto Lillian, and especially onto one of her female knights.
She had long platinum white hair, which was tied into a single long ponytail that reached down to her hip, following the curvature of her back. Her facial features were sharp, and she looked no less than the same age as Princess Eula herself.
But what specifically made all of them stare at her was her eyes.
They were golden in color.
The exact same eye color which only ever flowed through a single bloodline in this entire kingdom.
For the time being, all of them genuinely thought she was with the Valentine bloodline.
"They say that a myth is just a myth," the king’s voice carried across the entire hall, silencing every murmur in an instant. "But tonight, I stand before all of you to say otherwise. Some myths are not myths at all, some are simply truths that have been waiting quietly, hidden away, until the right time finally comes for them to be revealed to this world..."
He raised one hand toward the gathering.
"...it is a privilege for me, and for every single one of you gathered here tonight, to be able to witness this miracle with our own eyes."
"...we have four very special guests here with us this evening." He then turned his gaze toward Lillian.
Lillian waved gently at the gathering, she rose up from her seat and spoke.
"My~ What a warm welcome, King Aster. And thank you all for welcoming us here tonight."
Her voice was soft, yet it carried clearly across the entire hall.
"Evana has spent a very, very long time in silence for centuries. And now that we are finally able to stand before the rest of this world, there is nothing I look forward to more than the days ahead of us. Where our people can finally live under the same sky as all of you, and call you neighbours rather than strangers...."
Lillian gave her thanks to all the people present here, and after some brief speech she addressed the main question everyone else was thinking about.
"Many may ask me why Liora was the very first kingdom we the Kingdom of Evana chose to visit. Why did we prioritize this land above all the others?"
She paused for a brief moment.
Her emerald eyes drifted quietly toward Leon standing within the crowd. And then, just as swiftly, they shifted toward Veronica, who stood with her arms crossed, staring right back at her without a single change in expression.
Lillian smiled softly. "For what the Blood Tower has done for us, for every single citizen of Evana, it was truly an honour to step foot inside the kingdom where such a great person was born. It was my honour, and Evana’s honour, to be placed under the protection of the Blood Tower, Lady Veronica Valentine."
"...."
The entire hall never expected to hear this tonight.
What does she mean? The Evana Kingdom prioritizes Liora because it was the birth place of Veronica Valentine?
They all thought that it was their Kingdom’s charm which had pulled them here out of everyone else.
Everyone here already knew that three of the Tower Heads had stepped forward to protect Evana, and that it was their combined effort which had made it possible for the kingdom to exist openly in this world alongside all the others.
That much was public knowledge by now.
What they did not know, however, was that Veronica alone stood this high in Evana’s eyes, placed above the other three.
It was not exactly surprising, considering she was the strongest among them all.
But still... they were all equally shocked to hear it said out loud.
To Lillian’s praise, Veronica didn’t reply nor react a bit, she just stood beside Leon and Alice while maintaining her commanding demeanor.
After a brief speech from both the end, there were several important announcements made by the King.
The first was that they had signed a treaty to improve the technology the current Evana had, and second was that the Liora kingdom had opened their gates for all of Evana Citizen to visit and stay if they wished.
They were both bold decisions and only existed because of both the parties.
Soon after, the piano and other instruments started to play.

Everyone who joined today was allowed to have a talk with Princess Lillian.
One after other, the nobles started approaching Lillian.
From where Leon stood, he couldn’t see what they were asking her, but he was sure it was something like praising her or whatever to get to her good side.
Veronica had walked towards Lillain... or more especially towards the dragon hatchling brat who was holding hands with Lillian.
He saw that the small girl flinched rather violently when Veronica approached her.
It was a pleasant side for Rumi for some reason. She kept on yapping inside Leon’s head ’serves her right.’
At this point, Leon was sure Rumi had some grudge against dragons.
’Do you hate them or what?’ He asked her inside his head.
To his question, Rumi simply replied. ’Hate who? The dragon brat? I don’t really hate her, I was just annoyed by her mannerless behavior.’
’That ’s what ’hate’ is called Rumi. Hey, I think it was your subconscious mind, maybe before you lost your memories, you had some business with dragons... just think about it for a sec.’
’That’s some baseless accusation, Haru. I can’t imagine myself ever having business with those overgrown lizards. I would have crushed them if they were to get on my bad side.’
’Thats some level of hatred you have... you sure you are not racis—’
’Haru, please stop the nonsense talk.’
’Alright, alright.’
After teasing Rumi, Leon saw Irene stepped away from Lillian and Vivy.
As she walked she looked around them, to every person she passed by.
Irene’s golden eyes glowed as she used one of her unique skills.
Leon saw her expression, it looked like she was deducing something.
It was a habit of Irene, whenever she fell into deep thinking she used to bite her lower lips.
’....she might have already figured it out.’ Leon smiled internally.
