’Why do I have to witness her bad acting?... It’s good I’m not paying for this, or I would want a refund.’
Witnessing how Theressa excused her behaviour, saying "nervousness" made her lose focus when before "spectacular" (which I can grant is true since We are kind of awesome) people, it was now I who lost focus since I’m not about to get interested in her cringe acting... until finally, the Duke took the dwarf in a wig away with him.
But even then, she annoyed me. Since while walking away, she turned back to look at us, say goodbye again with her head briefly... to then almost fall as she started at the royal hunk staying behind.
’... Idiot... pull yourself together. It’s as if you had it tattooed on your forehead. Keep your pride for the love of god...’
The fact that her crush was indiscriminately being exposed just by her simple breathing annoyed me. She would become crazy later in the novel, losing all pride and self-respect. Doing stuff I abhorred as a woman since it was detrimental and grievous... and seeing that her attitude didn’t change much, faking a personality she doesn’t have before everyone, trying to look good yet to top it off, fail at it... keeps making me lose the hope I want to have for her.
’I truly hate... how she can easily change my mind. Either for the good or bad... I should just do the minimum...’
Keeping her safe from our psycho brother should be enough... with what I asked from the Duke... if that doesn’t work, then it is just how she wants it to be.
’Right. Even if we have a grandma’s heart, we are still adults. We should let people be and watch from the shadows, say ’I told you’, laugh for being correct and just let the stupid be stupid.’
It was difficult for us to even agree on this. As tough as I want to appear, I’m human and a freaking kind one... if I’m allowed to brag about a thing that is a bad thing, if it has no limits like sometimes my kindness does... but being aware is a step.
A step to change it, though.
