Chapter 395: Approached on the Plane
Ningwan sat on the plane, her eyes closed in a pretend sleep.
Just before landing, a stewardess suddenly approached.
Since Ningwan was sitting inside, she leaned back in her seat, half-asleep, and heard the stewardess speaking softly, seemingly to Zhan Hanjue.
"Excuse me, sir, would it be convenient for you to leave a phone number?"
Zhan Hanjue furrowed his brows. He had just woken up, his mind still not fully alert, and looked at the stewardess in confusion.
The stewardess blushed and quietly repeated, "Sir, would it be convenient for you to leave a phone number?"
After saying this, she gave him a coquettish look, her intentions clear as day.
Ningwan was actually already awake and wanted to see how Zhan Hanjue would respond.
But then she thought, waiting for his response was pointless; she wasn’t some young girl anymore interested in such outcomes.
However, just as she extended her hand to hold Zhan Hanjue’s hand, he also happened to reach out his hand.
Their hands met in mid-air.
Zhan Hanjue firmly grasped her hand, interlacing their fingers, and smiled at her, then spoke to the stewardess, "Sorry, my family has strict rules; my wife doesn’t allow me to casually give my contact information to others."
The stewardess immediately blushed a deep crimson, awkwardly muttered "Sorry," and quickly stood up to leave.
Ningwan couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time, turned her head to look at Zhan Hanjue, and nodded, "Well, you do have the allure to attract admirers."
"Rest assured, it only opens for you," Zhan Hanjue said with a smile.
Ningwan nodded with satisfaction.
Soon, the plane landed, and the two walked out hand in hand.
"Daddy, Mommy."
Just as they exited, a little Tuanzi came running towards them.
The little guy shouted loudly, dashing towards them.
Ningwan showed a terrified expression and hurriedly hid behind Zhan Hanjue.
"You catch him, I can’t handle it."
She vividly remembered the last time her son tackled her, almost breaking her tailbone.
Since then, she no longer allowed the little guy to pounce on her like that.
Though he looked small, thanks to his running start, his strength was tremendous.
The impact of his pounce was truly frightening.
In fact, without her reminder, Zhan Hanjue was already eager to catch his son.
He squatted down and caught his son in his arms, his stance particularly steady.
"Tuantuan, did you miss Daddy and Mommy?"
"Yes, of course I did." Little Tuantuan nodded vigorously.
Then, he happily said to Ningwan, "Mommy, Daddy can catch me."
Ningwan sighed, "Yes, your daddy is amazing, he can actually catch you."
"Mommy, that’s why I wanted to find Daddy," little Tuantuan chuckled, his eyes bending into crescents.
Ningwan was speechless, "Just so he can catch you?"
Little Tuantuan snuggled into Zhan Hanjue’s embrace, acting spoiled.
Zhan Hanjue felt his heart melt instantly.
Previously, he had been worried on the way about how to interact with his son without seeming awkward.
Unexpectedly, he didn’t need to consider these things at all. His son naturally clung to him, showing all sorts of affection.
The lost four years seemed to have never been absent.
The bond between him and Tuantuan was always this intimate.
"Tuantuan, thank you for trusting Daddy so much," Zhan Hanjue sincerely thanked his son.
Little Tuantuan replied, "Daddy, no need to be so polite. After all, you are my daddy, of course I have to trust you. But Daddy, when will you bring Xiaxia back? I promised her to make a wind chime for her. I’ve finished it. I want to give it to her as a gift."
"Tuantuan, she already went abroad with her mom, I don’t know when she will be back," Zhan Hanjue explained to him.
Little Tuantuan pouted, looking unhappy.
Ningwan frowned, "What’s going on?"
"Nothing." Little Tuantuan replied unhappily, snuggling into Zhan Hanjue’s arms.
Ningwan saw he didn’t want to say, so she didn’t press further. At this moment, someone called her, and she answered while walking.
"You go home first, I have something to do, need to see someone."
After finishing the call, Ningwan said to Zhan Hanjue and Tuantuan.
Zhan Hanjue frowned, "What’s so urgent that needs attending to right after getting off the plane? You’ve been on a long flight, you must be tired. Why not go home and rest first, then deal with it after you’re refreshed."
"No, it’s very important, you go home first, the car is waiting for me outside."
After saying this, she walked away quickly.
"Daddy, don’t be too upset, Mommy is just this busy. It used to be like this too, I often didn’t see her," little Tuantuan comforted Zhan Hanjue.
Zhan Hanjue gave a wry smile, "That really makes things tough for our little Tuantuan. Let’s go home, Daddy will try to spend more time with you in the future to make up for the four years he wasn’t there for you."
"I’d be even happier if Daddy could bring Xiaxia back," little Tuantuan said with a cheeky smile.
Zhan Hanjue ruffled his hair, saying nothing.
However, in his mind, he was thinking whether his son felt lonely being alone.
Should he find a playmate for him, so he wouldn’t keep missing Xiaxia?
"Wu, go investigate whom Madam went to meet,"
Zhan Hanjue put Tuantuan in the car first, but did not get in himself. Instead, he called over Wu and whispered instructions to him.
Wu nodded and immediately left.
Only then did Zhan Hanjue get into the car, pondering on finding a playmate for Tuantuan.
After returning home, he went to see Old Mrs. Zhan first.
Although they had been living together for the past four years, for Zhan Hanjue, it still felt like he hadn’t seen his grandmother in four years.
Especially seeing her now, her intellect had declined, appearing like a child, which distressed him deeply.
"Grandma, I’m back."
Zhan Hanjue held her hand, his voice choked.
Old Mrs. Zhan happily asked, "Hanjue, you’re finally back? Where did you go? You skipped the Huating banquet, and the elders called me about it."
Zhan Hanjue furrowed his brows.
The matter Grandma mentioned seemed to be from twenty years ago, did her memory return to twenty years ago?
"Great Grandma, do you remember me? I’m Tuantuan."
Little Tuantuan ran to Old Mrs. Zhan and asked her in a sweet voice.
Old Mrs. Zhan was visibly stunned for a moment, but soon smiled and pushed Zhan Hanjue away, reaching to touch little Tuantuan’s cheek.
"Oh my, my little Hanjue, you have grown so big in a blink of an eye."
This time, she mistook Tuantuan for the young Zhan Hanjue.
Tuantuan tried to explain patiently, "Great Grandma, I’m not Daddy, I’m Tuantuan."
However, after several explanations, Old Mrs. Zhan stubbornly called him little Hanjue.
Tuantuan simply stopped explaining and directly admitted he was Daddy when he was younger.
"Mrs. Chen, come out."
Seeing Tuantuan and Old Mrs. Zhan chatting happily, Zhan Hanjue glanced at Mrs. Chen nearby and summoned her outside.
Mrs. Chen lowered her head and followed Zhan Hanjue out the door.
Under the corridor, Zhan Hanjue stopped and turned around, looking at Mrs. Chen coldly.
Mrs. Chen, feeling nervous under his gaze, timidly asked, "Sir, what’s the matter?"
"What does Feng Qianru hold over you?" Zhan Hanjue asked.
