After Jiang Nan finished speaking and saw her expression relax a bit, he reached out and pinched her cheek.
"Look at you, claiming you’ve grown over the years, but you’re still so timid, your face turned pale with fright."

Meimei pouted and spoke softly.
She hadn’t expected Jiang Nan to switch to the planning department just for her.

"Jiang Nan, I heard the planning department is hard to get into. I only got in because of Tingye, but even then, just as an intern. How did you become a supervisor all of a sudden? Did Tingye open the back door for you?"
"Do I look like someone who uses connections?" Jiang Nan squinted his long, almond-shaped eyes, wanted to say something, but then just smiled and tapped Meimei’s head heavily.
"Alright, alright, I admit it. I got in so smoothly to protect you because of Tingye’s orders to guard our Princess Meimei!"
"Why didn’t Tingye tell me?" Meimei frowned and looked at him in confusion.
Jiang Nan’s face suddenly turned serious, "What, you don’t want to see me, so you’re digging for answers?"
"No, that’s not what I meant, just curious." Meimei quickly tried to appease him, "Thank you, both of you brothers."
"That’s more like it."
Jiang Nan glanced at his watch, saw it was about time, and told her to first go to the restroom, then come back to her workstation from there, while he entered the planning department from another direction.
With Jiang Nan around, Meimei’s work became noticeably easier.
Jiang Nan always found various reasons for her to take breaks, but with reasons that wouldn’t arouse suspicion.
Like delivering documents, making coffee, or buying afternoon tea for everyone...
