As soon as the door closed, Meimei excitedly lifted her skirt and ran to his side, her crystal-clear eyes sparkling."Tingye, you’re amazing! Just two words and he’s really waiting outside. I’ve talked so much today, and he wouldn’t stay more than three steps away from me. Even when I changed clothes, he was guarding the dressing room door; I was scared to death."
"What’s with this box of medicine? Are your stomach and intestines not feeling well?" Dan Tingye glanced at the small box in his hand, which was a bottle of medicine, and his expression suddenly changed.
"Ah?"
Meimei met his gaze, looked at the medicine bottle in his hand, and then laughed.
"The medicine is real, but my discomfort is fake. If I hadn’t said that, I worry I wouldn’t have had the chance to speak with you alone."
If she had known that with just one word from Tingye, her assistant could be sent away, she wouldn’t have needed to act so exhausting earlier, even pinching her thighs to the point of bruising them.
Meimei reached out and took the medicine bottle from his hand, shaking it playfully.
"You’re getting more and more clever."
Is this still the Meimei he knew?
Dan Tingye’s gaze deepened as he looked at her mischievous big eyes, but the feelings in his heart didn’t diminish at all; instead, they grew more intense.
"Tingye, what should I do next? Do I really have to wear this necklace to the party?" Meimei gazed at the dazzling diamond necklace, her eyes full of worry.
"No need."
Dan Tingye lowered his eyes to look at her, his lips moved gently.
"No need?" Meimei was taken aback, then looked up at him with surprise, "Tingye, I knew you were the best. Come on, tell me, what can I do to avoid wearing the necklace?"
"You still have to wear a necklace, but it’s not the one Mr. Bai prepared for you; it’s the one I prepared for you." Dan Tingye said, taking out a long box from his suit jacket and handing it to her.
