Chapter 2640: Chapter 2640: Bai Zheng Returns in Person (2)
"Dad..."Meimei’s face turned pale as she placed the plate she was holding onto the table, nervously looking at Dan Tingye.
The thing she feared had finally come true; she thought her father would just send someone to take her back, but she didn’t expect him to come in person.
"There’s no need to be afraid; I’m here. Say what I taught you before, and Mr. Bai might not insist on taking you away." Dan Tingye walked to her side, pulling her small frame into his embrace, noticing her slight trembling, he furrowed his brow.
She really cared about Bai Zheng; otherwise, she wouldn’t be so nervous just hearing he was back.
If Bai Zheng insisted on taking her away, Meimei certainly wouldn’t defy him. What would he use to keep her here then?
"Dad doesn’t like me studying medicine. If he knew I’ve been secretly contacting Mr. Diwu and agreed to take over Mr. Diwu’s laboratory behind his back, he would definitely be angry with me."
Meimei lowered her head, like a child who had done something wrong.
The incident at the last press conference was the boldest thing she’s ever done. She originally thought to act first and report later, hoping that once everyone knew she was the heir to the Divine Doctor’s lab, maybe dad wouldn’t oppose it.
Who knew, as soon as she appeared at the press conference, Dan Tingye took her away, and afterward, all her photos were bought at a high price by the Bai Group.
Even without asking, she knew her father must be very, very angry, which is why he came personally this time to get her.
"This isn’t your fault, you don’t need to blame yourself. Listen to me, follow your heart, Mr. Bai really cares about you. If he knew what you truly thought, he certainly wouldn’t force you."
Dan Tingye pulled her, pressing her onto the chair, and handed over a bowl of noodles.
