Chapter 2398: A Place Never Visited Before
In terms of material possessions, she would never shortchange her daughter. But Meimei was very sensible; even without reminders, she wouldn’t be spoiled.
Upon hearing Ye Mingmei’s words, Meimei didn’t happily pick out another dress. Instead, she took off the one she was wearing so the sales clerk could wrap it up. After Ye Mingmei swiped her card, she held Meimei’s hand and left.
All the way, besides taking care of her daughter, Ye Mingmei cautiously looked back from time to time, an indescribable feeling in her heart making her uneasy.
Not until the Ye Family’s bodyguards reached them did Ye Mingmei feel at ease and focus on shopping with her daughter.
She bought a few more dresses for Meimei and some puzzles that she liked, then carried her out of the mall.
"What’s happening up ahead? Why are there so many people?" Ye Mingmei looked at the crowded street less than a block away, frowning in confusion.
The bodyguard following her quickly explained, "Miss, the amusement park up ahead is opening today. It’s lively—I’ve heard there’s an acrobatics troupe performing—many people have come specifically to watch it, especially families with children."
Amusement park...
Ye Mingmei instinctively looked down at Meimei and sure enough, saw Meimei’s eyes light up instantly.
Since Meimei was born, Ye Mingmei never had the courage to take her to places like amusement parks, fearing she would see other kids there with their parents and be unable to explain why Meimei didn’t have a father.
