Chapter 348: Aftermath of the Orb of Wishes (3)
Warm sunlight shone down on the courtyard of Sehee Research Institute.
The short-haired girl sat there side by side with her resurrected sister.
Of course, her sister hadn’t actually died, but she had been in a vegetative state, so it could be considered a resurrection.
However, the sister who returned wasn’t human.
She was a Roll Cake Human.
At first, the girl was anxious and awkward, unsure if this was really her sister. But the moment they started talking, she knew.
Her real sister had come back.
And they had so much to discuss.
How her sister had ended up like this because she was tricked by ‘that man’.
How her sister had won the final victory in the ‘festival’, yet still ended up in a vegetative state.
After talking at length, the short-haired girl and her sister sat quietly, leaning against each other, without saying a word.
Though there was no conversation, just being together made them happy.
As the short-haired girl stared at her sister, her sister met her gaze and spoke.
“Do you want to try eating some after all?”
No, it was better not to speak.
Her sister had always been a bit eccentric, but since becoming a Roll Cake Human, she often played pranks that made the girl’s heart skip a beat.
She wished her sister would stop suddenly shouting “Dullahan!” and detaching her head to tuck it under her arm, or cutting off her fingers and offering them to eat.
“I told you not to do that!”
“But it’s delicious…”
The short-haired girl sighed deeply as she watched her sister eat her own finger, then turned her attention to the Mini Reapers waddling around.
Golden Reapers playing by sharpening their hair into horn-like points.
Golden Reaper Knights riding White Hungry Ghosts, patrolling as if guarding the Roll Cake Humans.
Mini Reapers feeding snacks to tiny concave-eyed creatures.
And her sister feeding her own fingers to the Mini Reapers.
Though Seoul was in chaos, being here with her sister and the Mini Reapers made it feel like there were no problems at all.
But reality was different.
Currently, the ‘Roll Cake Humans’, including her sister, couldn’t even leave Sehee Research Institute. On TV, opinions were divided on whether Roll Cake Humans were human or not.
Just then, a Golden Cloak Reaper gently poked the slightly gloomy-looking short-haired girl’s cheek.
‘?’
When the girl turned her head, the Golden Cloak Reaper gave her a reassuring smile.
A smile that made it seem like everything would work out.
That smile conveyed a willingness to help no matter what happened.
She placed the Golden Cloak Reaper on her palm, gently stroking it as she asked:
“Since the Gray Reaper is practically the ‘god’ of South Korea, the Roll Cake issue will be resolved well, right?”
The Golden Cloak Reaper clenched its tiny fists and nodded firmly, as if to say not to worry.
Feeling relieved, the short-haired girl began sharing pudding from the courtyard with the Golden Cloak Reaper.
Just as they finished eating a pudding together, people from the Object Council poured into the Sehee Research Institute courtyard.
The atmosphere suggested they were about to make an important announcement, and the people gathered in the courtyard swallowed nervously.
