Chapter 182: The Blue Girl (3)
Holding her younger sister in her arms, the tattooed woman fell through the darkness without a single light and landed on the solid ground. Following her, a Hungry Ghost with multiple colours fell with a heavy sound.
In the darkness where it was hard to see what was in front of her, the woman took out a glass bottle and began shaking it. The two types of sticky liquids inside slowly mixed together before emitting a soft light.
When she looked at the face of her younger sister in her arms with that light, she saw that she had her eyes tightly shut and was holding onto her tightly. Finding her younger sister’s appearance a little cute, she tapped the tip of her nose with her finger.
Then, her younger sister opened her eyes slightly and looked around. She then opened her eyes wide and let out a long sigh as soon as she realized that she was safe.
“I was so surprised, Unnie! That guy was trying to bite me just now, aren’t they?”
The woman nodded and said with a slightly gloomy expression.
“That’s right. I thought the entrance would be safe, so it was completely my fault. I should have considered the possibility that the alchemist was already dead…”
The younger sister shook her head and consoled her.
“It’s okay, Unnie. Even though I was surprised, I’m not hurt, am i?”
The younger sister was sweating profusely as she spoke. She was so surprised that even after quite some time had passed, her heart was still beating hard.
The woman listened to her sister’s words and patted her until she calmed down.
Then, when her heartbeat stabilized and her complexion improved, she lifted her up and stood her up properly on the ground.
“Now, let’s go find the alchemist’s workshop.”
The woman held up the potion bottle that was shining brightly and started walking ahead. After walking through a dark cave for a while, a peculiar city unfolded before their eyes.
While the younger sister was just admiring the strange scenery, the tattooed woman slowly looked around the city with a frown.
It seems to be a copy of the capital of the kingdom, but there are some differences. Is this the appearance of the capital from a different time period than the one I knew? Or is it a completely different city?
She was looking at the city which had the same architectural style as her hometown, albeit its slightly different appearances while coming up with various hypotheses.
Before long they landed in the quiet, empty city and started walking. Thinking that there might be some danger lurking around the city, she held hands with their younger sister and moved. However, even after walking for some time, they didn’t see anything that looked dangerous.
However, unlike her, her younger sister seemed excited, as if she was completely out sightseeing.
It was really impossible for the city to not have any danger lurking around, but it was so quiet that it made her feel uneasy.
“Look at that, Unnie.”
In the place the younger sister was pointing towards, there was a large cauldron.
It was a large cauldron used in alchemy.
While laughing at the younger sister who was making a fuss about how much taller the cauldron was compared to a person, the woman saw strange debris in the corner of their eyes.
It was the debris of something white.
And that was the reason why the area was safe.
The woman slowly approached and began to examine the debris.
It was a guardian that looked the same as the guardian that had been standing at the entrance, but it had been bitten here and there and stopped moving. The face of the remains was intact, although it was slightly torn, while its human ears and teeth were clearly visible.
“It’s really disgusting… Why do they look like that? Is it the taste of the person who made it?”
Her younger sister, who had been excitedly looking at the cauldron, had already come to the woman’s side and was frowning.
“Muscles or ears may be the creator’s taste, but the teeth shouldn’t be. There is only one case where a guardian grows human teeth.”
The woman said so as she took out the core she had used to make the colored ogre from her pocket.
“It’s a characteristic of a guardian who had swallowed the core used to make it.”
Looking at the core, the younger sister covered the mouth of the colored ogre that was standing quietly on the floor and said to it.
“You should never eat that!”
The woman smiled slightly as she watched her younger sister, who seemed determined not to let their guardian grow human teeth.
“Since we will lose control of the guardian if they eat the core, a sane alchemist wouldn’t do something like that.”
“Ah, so that’s why you said the alchemist has probably died?”
The younger sister clapped her hands slightly in admiration upon hearing that.
“Anyway, it looks like someone else was already here before us. Judging from the fact that they took care of the guardian, they seem to be a more capable group than expected.”
The area was enveloped with a faint human blood.
Moreover, there were some destroyed guardians.
The group of humans who came faster than the woman who rushed in as soon as she saw the news should probably be part of this country’s ‘government.’
It’s only been about 30 years since the Magic Book appeared in this world, yet they’d reached this level.
It was simply astonishing.
“Okay, let’s hurry and go.”
The woman took her younger sister’s hand again and slowly began to advance deeper into the alchemist’s dungeon.
