Chapter 677: Skeletons and closets
After the gala, five short interviews with different reporters and multiple photographs, Chi Lian and Muyang returned home. The old master and madam had arrived ahead of them and they were enthusiastically discussing Yan Feng’s theft openly.
Muyang went straight up to the bedroom to change and go to the university while Chi Lian briefly stopped by the living room to check on the children. Neither one of them was there.
She was pulled to sit down on the sofa by the old madam who seemed to have many questions.
"Chi-Chi, it must be a relief to know that the lotus blessing is going to be returned you after two weeks of viewing. I remember how we all gathered at your parent’s house after the attack that night pondering on the reason for the attack. How could it have been related to the Yan’s?" she asked, very bewildered at the ugly truth.
"Does anything about them surprise us anymore?" the old mater asked. "Just look at all the things we have discovered about them. I understand that all families have secrets in their closets but this closet is too deep."
"And we have not even touched the bottom." Chi Lian thought.
"What makes me even more furious is the fact that Yan Daya stabbed my Muyang in the eye?" the old madam touched her heart and shook her head in pained disbelief.
"Grandmother, you know!!" Chi Lian was surprised and she looked at the old master.
This was supposed to be a secret kept away from the rest of the family, or so she was told.
The old madam noticed her confusion and explained, "I saw the footage on Muyang’s laptop when he left it out yesterday. The glass shattered when the plane was descending and Yan Daya tried to open Muyang’s parachute but when she failed, she secretly grabbed a glass and stabbed him in the eye when they hit the water. It’s obvious that she intended to kill him, that crazy stalker harlot of a bitch. I am so glad that she is now an invalid, and she is so lucky that she was moved before I got my hands on her otherwise I would cut her legs and arms off too. What happened to her is karma, the universe paid her in kind."
Chi Lian tilted her body downward to the right and looked at the old master.
