Chapter 643: The death of a star.
The pictures she sent out were quickly circulated among the parties who needed to see them. The professor’s identity was uncovered and the emperor’s people disguised as police officers quickly picked up his wife for further questioning.
The emperor was excited, more treasures for the empire had been discovered during his reign. Was this not a sign that he was a blessed ruler?
He was saying this much to his father as they spoke via a hologram video call.
"Don’t get too excited." The grand emperor told him. "The target of the men we have sent out is to secure the island first and capture those involved in this conspiracy. Do not dream of diverting them to gather the treasures as well before that which is of utmost importance is done."
The emperor wiped the excited look away from his face and a precautious one returned.
"I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they settled down there, they must have known about that treasure in advance." The grand emperor was still looking over the photographs.
Additionally he had sent one of his personal bodyguards to bring a history of the island from the royal library which he was looking at.
"We do sweeps every year of all the uninhabitable islands to ensure that no criminals are hiding out there or people are stuck and in need of rescue. And yet we have never once detected their presence. What are they using to shield themselves from our discovery?" The emperor had something which he had been curious about for so long but not shared with anyone yet. He had been wondering if he alone, found it to be weird that not even once had their drones which detected thermal signatures remained ignorant to the presence of humans on that island.
Not even a plane in the sky had noticed a settlement.
