She did some work and spent the rest of the day with her children, keeping a strict eye on Mei-Mei who was lethargic. She had a running stomach as well, so she made sure to ensure that her baby was drinking some water or fresh juice every hour or so.
Little monk was completely fine, he played with his toys, went swimming in the swimming pool at home, played with the pets and watched his favorite cartoons after lunch. Eventually, he took a short nap in the evening at her encouragement.
She was bouncing Mei-Mei up and down against her chest and singing a lullaby when Muyang returned from the university.
He kissed both of them on the head and asked "How are my two favorite girls?"
"Your daughter has refused to let go of me, when I put her down she whimpers as if she is if in physical pain. I think she will sleep with me tonight since you will be gone."
They had spent most of the day with Mei-Mei clinging on to her. She rejected the nanny and all the maids. Even the old madam, grandma An, and mama Chi were met with rejection when they passed by. All she wanted was mummy, not even her father.
Mei-Mei stayed right where she was, clutching Chi Lian’s shirt tightly even though her eyes were on her father.
Muyang touched Mei-Mei’s head gently and she caught his hand. He laughed and teased her with his fingers, making different gestures. "Should I cancel my trip?"
"No, if you cancel it then Yan Daya, a real threat against our children continues to roam freely so close to us. If you change your mind about the trip then I will deal with her before the week ends. I am serious Muyang, I have run out of patience. The Yan’s are becoming more impatient with everything that is going on. They suspect that someone is after them and they are looking, hard. They suspect that the emperor is colluding with the Rai’s but at one point the finger will be pointed our way."
"Mmm." he grunted.
"What’s the plan?" she asked him?
