Muyang internalized her assurances and he nodded. It was not in her nature to be deceitful or speak carelessly on matters she was unsure of. He trusted her fully, and if she said that a tsunami was coming, it was coming. He had seen some of the technology in her hands and he knew just how excellent it was. It was many years ahead of its time, perhaps if he went directly to the prime minister or the emperor with the device then he would save both of them the ordeal of being questioned by the scientists or weather experts who would be very opinionated about this. It would be better if Mujin, the empire’s number one known genius was involved as well.
"Can I take a look at the device?" he asked her.
"It’s in my lab in the science park, you can access it at any time." She told him. He had her password after all.
He nodded and she breathed out deeply.
"What’s wrong?" he asked her.
"You believe me." She said.
"Of course," he answered. "Isn’t that a given?"
"Not necessarily, I am speaking about things of which I am not an expert basing off the readings of a device that is unknown. I would not believe myself if someone came to me and made such claims."
"Chi-Chi, we have devices that detect earthquakes, a device that detects a tsunami two months away is ahead of its time , sure, but I have heard about scientists trying to invent devices that control the weather. What you have is not alien. Everyday someone out there in the world is trying to invent a special and unique device that can do wondrous and phenomenal things."
