Transmigration: Lady Chi Woos The Ice cold Professor Jun

Chapter 577: My generous heart

"She didn’t have to hit you so hard." Papa Chi looked at his daughter Chi Lian while his wife walked away and returned to Manchu’s side to feed her some fruits which the chef and some maids had just brought out.

"Mother has grown biased, so biased." Chi Lian answered while she rubbed the part of her back that itched as a result of being slapped by her mother. "Father, after Chi Wei’s baby is born, I am sure that mother will kick you out of the bedroom so that she can sleep with the baby at night."

"She did the same thing when Mei-Mei had just come." Papa Chi whispered and told Chi Lian about his wife’s secret that was not such a secret to Chi Lian. "She would sneak out of the room at night and bring Mei-Mei to our bedroom. Then, she would pretend in the morning that she had just picked her up at five or six because she was crying."

Both of them were peeping at Mama Chi just in case she overheard them gossiping about her.

"Ho!" Chi Lian pretended to be surprised. "You don’t say,"

"Your mother is crazy about grandchildren," Papa Chi closed his eyes and folded a fist as he assured her of this fact.

They watched mama Chi complaining from where she was wiping Mei-Mei’s face gently with so much care. "Aiya, our little princess, why are you running around under the hot sun? Your beautiful skin is going to be burnt. Come and put on grandma’s hat, it will protect you."

Even though father and daughter had been discussing mama Chi, they both watched her with love filled smiles on their faces. She was good wife, great mother and even greater grandmother.

"Father, do you want a taste of the corn?" Chi Lian peeled one cob and took a bite before handing it to her father to do the same if he desired.
