Chapter 565: In what capacity?
After a brief talk with Muyang, they did not return to the submarine because it was not her intention to expose it to the royals or the world yet. The submersible however had already been exposed so it was put on the yacht.
As Chi Lian and Muyang took off their diving suits and changed into their normal clothes, soldiers climbed onto the yacht. Others surrounded it with their weapons in hand, pointing outwards. A signal jammer was used by their leader who had yet to identify himself, all in an effort to prevent Chi Lian and Muyang from communicating with the outside world. Even the submersible was surrounded by soldiers for some reason. They stared intensely at it as if they were worried that it would disappear.
The couple said nothing, watching all this in silence as they prepared to have their dinner. Muyang even brought out an expensive wine from Italy and he asked the staff to set out one more place, preparing for the visitor that had yet to step on the yacht.
"Who do you suppose is coming for the negotiation?" Chi Lian asked him.
"I can’t say for sure, it could be a minister like Su who is one of the emperor’s most trusted men in government. It could be one of the prince’s, the grand emperor or the emperor himself. Either way, it will be someone with the power to negotiate. That’s why all communication has been cut off and there are more soldiers here than necessary."
One of the servers poured wine into their glasses and the couple slowly sipped it as they waited. It would have been a calm beautiful night on the sea but the helicopters which were hovering above the yacht made so much noise. Additionally, the outside view was covered by the body of the large coastguard ship.
"It’s a shame about that sunset." She commented with a wistful smile on her face, "I was hoping to end the livebroadcast with a beautiful picture of the sun fading away as we wave goodbye. I even prepared what would have been the perfect outfits for us, it would have been beautiful."
"We can always return, we have a submarine now after all. In fact we can do it every year as a family, take a vacation on the sea and search for treasure."
"I am in." She extended her glass to his and tapped it. "Cheers." She said with a smile. "Next time," she looked around and whispered, "we will not do any live broadcast. We can keep our treasure to ourselves."
