Chapter 541: Our smarty pants
While Chi Lian’s emotions were often on her face, bear was the opposite. When she was excited she simply nodded with a small smile on her lips or she would briefly laugh out loud. When she was happy, she would briefly lift the corners of her lips and say something sarcastic. The two emotions which she never bothered to hide were anger and contempt. You could easily tell when you had messed up at work if you received one of those glares that said ’get lost’ and her aura was cold. This made her a great negotiator and tactful business manager because she had the ability to make others nervous. Right now, Chi Lian could not appropriately describe which emotion Bear was feeling. Her face was frozen stiff, somewhere in between ’get lost and unhappy. Chi Lian regretted having opened her mouth to step into something that was none of her business in the first place.
"Sorry, for giving you unsolicited advice but it’s just a close friend did this for me with Muyang. That friend said he would make an excellent husband for me and initially I was unreceptive and dismissive but later, out of curiosity I approached him. He told me to get lost and I went looking for him again. I put my pride aside and decided not to live without regrets. Look at us today, I am his wife and I love that man immensely. I am simply saying you should try and see if there is something or you are just stuck with an adolescent crush and adoration."
Chi Lian knew all too well that if T4 had not insisted on pushing her and Muyang together, they would not be married today. She pushed the button and the elevator doors opened. This would be the first and last time she would speak to bear about her plans for her personal life. Unless she came to her and asked for advice that is.
"I am leaving now, I will see you in about one or two weeks. It will depend on my Muyang’s program and how much fun I am having."
Old tiger drove her back home and before she did anything else, she gave him a box of things to deliver to Su Manchu. It included some prenatal vitamins, heating pads, easy to use exercise equipment that T4 claimed were good for reducing stress on the body of an expectant mother. She also added a smart massager which was portable. She would simply choose which part of the body was aching and it would get to work. All this and more she bought from the system mall for a few points. She was okay with spending a few points because T4 said he could see that they would be leveling up soon after months of nothing. There was a lot to keep her smiling these days.
"Host, you know that drone camera which you left behind in America to keep an eye on the princess?"
"Mmm" she nodded. She was playing music loudly and dancing in the bedroom as she undressed, preparing to take a bath. "You said the princess has not mentioned me in all this time."
"Yes, but her marriage has fallen through, for some reason the Russian fiancé has called off the wedding."
"Oh," Chi Lian kicked her foot forward, sending her trousers sailing through the air and they perfectly landed in a laundry basket. "Nice shot." She praised herself. "Am I supposed to feel something akin to pity for her because I should remind you that she did not want the marriage in the first place and more importantly Rose and I are not connected to her in any way. Unless the wedding was called off because they found out about Rose, then I can be concerned. "
"I know that host but the point I am making is that the marriage was only recently announced and it has been called off. The royal spokesman will address the press tomorrow to give a vague excuse. I am proposing that we dip out toes in the international paparazzi market slightly since we failed last time. We can get hundreds of millions of points at once this way."
She wrapped a towel around her body and sat down, looking at the typed statement which the royal spokesman was to read to the press tomorrow.
