Chapter 533: The women in business conference (2)
Security at the palace hotel was tighter on this day than it had ever been before. Not even the engagement banquet of Muyang and Chi Lian had caused as much ruckus as this. Because of the wide spread news about the success of Yi Bori yesterday, more women had come pouring in, attempting to try their luck and attend the conference so that they could pitch their ideas or just have a chance to interact with the queen dowager. A few had containers carrying their home made sweets in the hopes that madam Jing could take a bite, fall in love and buy their recipes. Whatever reason brought them all, the ten dozen guards surrounding the entrance of the hotel were like walls, letting no one that was not verified through.
When the numbers became overwhelming, police had to be deployed at the venue to maintain security.
The situation had become so ridiculous as men tried to enter the venue too. For this reason, the women were treated to some funny comments being made by the male security guards.
"Ma’am, I can see your Adams apple and it’s bigger than mine."
"Ma’am, you must work out a lot because your biceps are bigger than my head."
"Lady, one of the oranges you are using as your breasts has fallen out."
The situation had become quite comical and the conference started one hour later than yesterday’s but the attendees settled down and it begun eventually. Yi Bori had become an overnight celebrity, a few people were pointing to her, taking her pictures and whispering her name.
"Let’s settle down," Rize announced. "We do not have a minute to waste and those are taking pictures of young Yi Bori without her consent I urge you to stop. Our empire has strict laws about photographing minors. Bear in mind that we have many policemen and women in the room so let’s behave."
With her warning, phones were put away and everyone looked ahead.
"Our first speaker today is President Qin Meng of Glory entertainment."
There were not many female presidents and CEO’s in the empire so most of the women in positions of power were well known.
