President Qin blushed profusely and hurried to deny the allegations Chi Lian was playfully making. "Hey," she fanned her face and laughed, "There is absolutely no such situation, I have no crush on him. It’s just that I have seen him around at parties and banquets but he never goes anywhere close to women which has made many of us curious. Both brothers used to be that way until your husband got married to you. Come to think of it, both brothers have a surprising way of doing things, Jun Muyang also surprised us when he publicly announced his relationship with you."
"Why?"
President Qin slightly pursed her lips, she wanted to say something but she did not want to offend Chi Lian.
Chi Lian on the other hand knew what president Qin was not saying and she was okay with hearing it. "Feel free to say it, we should both respect each other enough to be honest about certain things. I know that I was not from his typical circle, not wealthy, no nobility in my background or aristocracy and I did not go to an Ivy league university, I had zero special talents. Many women wrote me off back then, I used to pretend that I did not hear them gossiping about me in the bathrooms and I remember their disdainful gazes clearly. But at the end of the day, he stuck with me so I won and they lost."
"No one but you stood a chance with him." President Qin concurred. "Frankly speaking I am happy that he ended up with someone like you. I know many women that want the Jun name simply because of the all the doors it can open."
The waiter returned, he was pushing a cart with a bottle of wine sitting in an ice bucket and two glasses. Behind him were three female employees, two were dressed similarly to the waiter but one was dressed differently, her uniform was red and it had a marking which designated her the manager. All of them wore that signature ’please feel welcome’ smile.
The manager stepped to the side of the waiter that was opening the wine bottle and she bent her neck slightly, "CEO Chi, president Qin, thank you for gracing us with your presence today. If we had known that you were coming we would have made bigger preparations."
"There is no need to make a fuss, we are customers like all the rest." Chi Lian said first.
"Yes," president Qin nodded, "We are just here to have a friendly meal."
